I have not heard of adjusting one of these. The marks I am familiar with are wear indicators. If the mark from the swinging arm go beyond the casting mark on the stationary part, the belt is stretched too far. A good belt should ride between the marks on the stationary casting.

What do I do if I can not see timing marks on the camgears of a 2000 Ford focus Dohc anyone

according to autodata belt replacement guide , there are no timing ,marks on the cam gears
it require special tools and a good knowledge of mechanics to do the job so I strongly recommend that you get a workshop manual before starting on the job
I could type it all for you but with only two fingers , I would be here until next week as the directions are involved and you will need diagrams to full understand the procedure
that is why I suggest a workshop manual
the procedure is not as you would expect as on other engine makes and need to carefully followed

double check all youre timing marks . loosten tentioner and adjust cam.then tighten chain .manually turn motor over twice then check timing marks again this is a little tricky sometimes because when you tighten the tentioner the cam will move. you have to have the chain in a spot to compensate for this movement.

I need a timing diagram for a 1995 1.9 Ford Escort wagon. thank-you so very much.

you dont, make sure you have the proper replacemend belt at hand. get a very clean cloth and clean the front off gears and look for timing marks look very carefuly they are there, move the crank into position and line the marks on all gears with the marks on the back markings [clean both front and back of plates you will see both markings],reliese the tentioner and remove old belt, replace with new belt and after making sure everything is lined and i mean lined no room for a tooth out reliese tentioner, job done re check until happy replace everything and hope you are ok.adrian,,,ps water pump does not have a marking but should be replaced.

How to time a ford 7.5 litre engine

V8 timing marks

With the Dura Spark II system, only an initial timing adjustment is possible. Ignition timing is not considered to be a part of tune-up or routine maintenance.
With the TFI-IV system no ignition timing adjustment is possible and none should be attempted.
  1. Locate the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the front of the engine.
  2. Clean the timing marks so that you can see them.
  3. Mark the timing marks with a piece of chalk or with paint. Color the mark on the scale that will indicate the correct timing when it is aligned with the mark on the pulley or the pointer. It is also helpful to mark the notch in the pulley or the tip of the pointer with a small dab of color.
  4. Attach a tachometer to the engine.
  5. Attach a timing light according to the manufacturer's instructions. If the timing light has three wires, one is attached to the No. 1 spark plug with an adapter. The other wires are connected to the battery. The red wire goes to the positive side of the battery and the black wire is connected to the negative terminal of the battery.
  6. Disconnect the vacuum line to the distributor at the distributor and plug the vacuum line. A golf tee does a fine job.
  7. Check to make sure that all of the wires clear the fan and then start the engine.
  8. Adjust the idle to the correct setting.
  9. Aim the timing light at the timing marks. if the marks that you put on the flywheel or pulley and the engine are aligned with the light flashes, the timing is correct. Turn off the engine and remove the tachometer and the timing light. If the mark are not in alignment, replace the ignition module.

When the oil is at the add mark how much does its take to fill its back uo to full mark

I to 1.5 litres should do it

Park the truck on level ground and let the engine cool down

Dip the oil then and check the level

Add 1 litre of oil and give it time to drain down into the sump say 15 mins

Dip it again and add a little at a time till you hit the mark.

The tension is set automatically with the belt tensioner. It looks like a pulley. You put a wrench or socket on the bolt in the center of the tensioner and apply pressure. It is spring loaded. As you apply the pressure it will release the tension on the belt for removal or installation.
