Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2004 jeep Grand Cherokee sounds like an empty tin can when I accelerate

A few months ago I noticed that my 2004 Jeep G.C. was idling a bit rougher than normal with a very faint rattle. I keep up routine maintenance on a regular so I attributed it to age of the vehicle. Just a couple weeks ago, I noticed a faint, but distinct rattle coming from front end upon acceleration (not highway driving). It sounds like a rattling hollow tin can or tiny rocks in a tin can. The noise is only audible inside the vehicle or when hood is raised. It is very faint when idling and more noticeable upon acceleration. I had to replace my compressor and belt (A/C wasn't working) but that did not resolve noise. Exhaust was checked and nothing appeared to be loose under carriage. Any suggestions on what might be causing this noise?

it sounds like the problem is with your fan not running. I would try and see if you have power at the fan and test the fan to see if it isn't bad.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee temp gauge high when heat is on

If your "check engine" light is turn on, I suggest scanned the PCM to know exactly what fault code is stored there. Additionally, could be some problem with the "temp sending unit".

Noise from engine

Does the noise come from the engine or transmission, Pull the dipstick tube from the transmission when it is warm and smell it for a burnt smell.Check oil dipstick for any water or white paste.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee leaking coolant and power steering fluid

Just a heads up, $10 bucks will buy you a seal kit for the P.S. pump. I topped mine off for a couple months, then the oring on the high pressure line (from pump, front center) blew and dumped the reservoir in a matter of miles.

The line can be a stinker to get off, recommend driving the car for a few minutes to heat up the pump a little. Don't forget the 20MM wrench.
