The coils usually have a resistance of 10,000 Ohms from the tip where the coil plugs in to the spark plug. The Onboard computer should indicate any problem and designate which cylinder is misfiring.

1998 Lincoln town car run rich in left side only I replace intenc gasket, spark plug, sthil chek engine on

I think it could be a bad converter or a coil pack getting weak . I've had both issues on the 4.6 and the 5.4 ....to check the converter run it hard when it is up to temperature ( best to do it when it close to dark) pull over look under the car and see if one looks to be glowing red if so it is clogged. Coil packs are not cheap and hard to narrow down which one is bad but go to rock auto.com and you can all 8 for the price of 3 them .
When posting on here if you can inform us of the codes that was pulled it would be helpful.

How do I change spark plugs?

Your car has what is called "Coil On Plug" ignition. You just locate the coils on top of the engine. There's eight of them. 4 on one side and 4 on the other. Unplug all 8 coils. remove the 7mm bolt that holds each coil in. Pull the coils out. They DO come out with no other removal of components. Remove the plugs. Repeat. only backwards.

Tyring to figure out which coil I need to replace. It says to replace ignition coil C (P0353). This is for my 1999 lincoln town car

You have 8 coil packs, with engine running, disconnect one coil at a time. listen for engine rpm to drop, the one that don't drop is the bad coil pack.

Oil around spark plug and car mis fires

The oil around the plug may be a sign that the valve-cover needs a new gasket. Oil on the plugs can cause a misfire but it is important that you check everything over. The misfire could be due to defective wires, boots, coils, spark-plug/s, injector/s, and so much more. Take a look at the cars maintenance history, Maybe it is over due for a complete tune-up or oil change. The car is 11years old, how many miles are on it? How was it running before this?

I need to change spark plugs. What do I need to fix it with or what to take off. Its a 98 lincoln town car executive.

Remove the individual coil packs located under the chrome fuel rails, just above the valve covers. Directley under the coil will be a spark plug boot, remove the boot & spark plug will be set into the hole. Will need about a 6" extention with a 5/8" spark plug socket to access.

2000 lincoln town car executive series sparkplugs

Between the rocker cover and the fuel rail are the coils, one per cylinder hed in place by a smill 8mm bolt. Remove the coil and find the spark plug wire, the arrangement is called a coil-on-plug or COP. Spark plug is in the tube from whince the spark plug wire came. 5/8" deep socket and long extension will reach it. Another hint find some way to clean out the tube before removing the spark plug least all kinds of junk winds up in the cylinder.......SMith
