Sounds like thermostat or water pump may be going, check fluid levels and belt condition and tensions. a lower temp thermostat may help

If you are loosing coolant and cant find any leaks check your oil level. If oil level is rising.you have blown a head gasket or cracked a head. Common when an engine over heats badly.

Overheating car


There may be an issue with your oil pressure sensor.
You also probably have a faulty water pump that is functioning under revs but not at idle, what happens if you rev it mildly at idle

I have a 2000 vwb with a 2.0 engine, it keeps overheating. I have replaced the radiator flange and it overheated and melted that. Anyone know if there is a fan delay or relay switch?

My Chrysler 300m (2004), has been overheating, thermostat replaced, new radiator, mew gaskets......im at a loss. it only overheats while idling or in traffic.


Have your hose's checked , Sounds like your hose may be collapsed, this happens when breaks down from presure. Is this don't work JUst turn your heater on and let idle if this keeps from getting hot your heater core is stopped up. Best of luck, Let me know hao it go's,

Overheating in slow traffic. suspect front fan


temp sensor probably bad. You can listen for the fan at idle or just open the hood and look to see if its turning.

hi ive got the same motor but mines on a 96 plate check your electric fan shis should be cutting in to reduce temp when u are stuck in traffic

You need some new head gaskets, my friend. Or you have a cracked head... either one = BIG BUCKS. bummer.
