Toyota heater no warm air for 15mins


Sounds like an air lock!
To Check....
With engine cold set heater to hot position.
ID return pipe from heater under the hood. Remove the return pipe at one end to check if coolant is there ( it should run from heater pipe) if no coolant you have an air lock.
To remove air lock top up coolant header when engine is cold. Leave heater in cold position replace pipe and start engine. Allow it to come to working temp then set heater to hottest position. Allow a few seconds and check if the pipe you first removed is hot. If no then ease the securing clip and carefully allow air to escape while engine is running... place a cloth over this area to prevent hot coolant spraying out. When coolant appears re-tighten pipe.
"PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL DOING THIS AS COOLANT WILL BE EXTREMELY HOT".
If you're not confident enough to do this ask a qualified mechanic to do it for you.

Mitsubishi montero 2003 leaking anifreeze in the rear


There is a set of two steel pipes that carry coolant/antifreeze to the rear mounted heater core for heater operation. These steel pipes/tubes rust out, and you end up with a coolant leak. Mitsubishi has superceded the steel tubes with aluminum tube set. Not an easy job to replace the two pipes since they are routed over and around a few items under the vehicle before attaching to the heater core at the r/r of the vehicle.

Coolant is not flowing into expansion tank via little hose and car is overheating. As it is getting hot the coolant bubbles and spits coolant through the little hose but it is sputtery like it is tryi


coolant will not flow from the return pipe continuously.when the engine heats the coolant expands returns to tank. coolant fan starts engine cools down return pipe flow stops . fan stops after times, again coolant heats up and flows through the pipe. this cycle continues and go on.

Where is thermosts located and how do i replace it?


2.2L Engine
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Properly drain and recover the coolant until the level is below the thermostat.
  3. Unfasten the coolant outlet-to-inlet manifold attaching bolt and nut, then remove the outlet.
  4. Remove the thermostat. Clean the inlet manifold and outlet mating surfaces.
To install:
  1. Install a new O-ring onto the thermostat
  2. Place the thermostat in the inlet manifold.
  3. Attach the coolant outlet to the inlet manifold, using the bolt and nut. Tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  4. Refill the engine cooling system.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable, then start the engine and check for coolant leaks.

2.3L and 2.4L Engines
(see Figure 7)

When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL® (orange colored, silicate free) coolant meeting GM specifications. On these vehicles, if silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner; at 30,000 milee or 24 months.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Properly drain and recover the coolant to a level below the thermostat.
  3. Unfasten the cover-to-outlet pipe bolt, which is accessible through the exhaust manifold runners.
  4. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  5. Disconnect the radiator and heater hoses from the outlet pipe.
  6. Unfasten the outlet pipe-to-oil pan bolt and the cover-to-outlet pipe bolts.
  7. Remove the thermostat, then clean the old gasket material from the mating surfaces.

To install:
  1. Position the thermostat in ite correct location, then install the cover-to-outlet pipe bolt. Tighten the bolt to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).
  2. Install the outlet pipe-to-oil pan bolt. Tighten the pipe-to-oil pan bolt to 19 ft. lbs. (26 Nm) and the pipe-to-transaxle bolt to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
  3. Connect the radiator and heater hoses to the outlet pipe.
  4. Carefully lower the vehicle.
  5. Install the cover-to-outlet pipe bolt through the exhaust manifold runner.
  6. Properly fill the cooling system, then connect the negative battery cable.

it's called the degas bottle becuase it is pressurized and flows coolant through it all the time so it can purge air.

How to replace the water pump on 1993 oldsmoblie achieva.


2.4 enigine is the harder of the 3 enignes. it will need a timing chain to be removed and a coolant tube in the back of the engine to be removed. this job on the book calls for almost 7 hours.

if its 3.3 or 3100 its alot easier.

3100 is just 4 10mm pulley bolts and 5 or 6 small 8mm water pump bolts.

3.3 is alittle more work, but same concept as 3100 engine. more owkr only cause its in a tighter area.

Losing coolant from pipes above rear axle on kia


It sounds like a leak in the water jacket of your motor, it could be just a head gasket if you're lucky. Also check for a leak in the coolant pipes them selves usualy at the connections.
