Question about 2006 Chevrolet HHR
The power steering keeps going out I replaced the two fuses already but the problem is still there. What else could it be? and about how much would it cost to fix it?

yes it's true they do not have a power steering pump
they have electric power steering
i'm not sure about the HHR but the G5 and the COBALT have a MESSAGE come up on the RADIO or the DIC service power steering
my guess would be you have a short that's why the fuse blew
poss. POWER STEERING MOTOR shorted internal
you should have the vehicle scanned for a fault code in the steering system
hope this helps

You may have blown more than the power steering fuse (#1, 60A). You should check all the fuses in the underhood fuse box and you will probably find at least 1 more.
Also check the inside fuse box in the passenger side of the console.
