Digital Control for T-300+ with Light button (Softub) doesn't change temperature. How difficult is this to replace?

I recently purchased a clean Softub 300 hot tub from a private seller on Craigslist. It seems to be exhibiting the symptoms listed in the link below. Digital Control for T-300+ (http://softubdirect.com/digital-control-for-t300-with-light-button-p-165.html) with Light button (Softub) doesn't change temperature. How difficult is this to replace? Are there any other concerns/potential failure I should be aware of?

SOURCE: this car has the automatic temperature control system

The hot/cold switch is probably bad.you have a blend door box that opens to let the cold air in and closes to let the hot air in.From what you are saying this part is no responding to the switch movement.Make sure power is at the switch and power should go through the switch when put on cold air this moves the blend door. Some times the blend door goes bad and has to be replaced its under the dash on the right side.

SOURCE: trac off and check engine light for lexus es 300

A week ago, on my Lexus ES 300 (2001), "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights came on. This coincided with me filling the gas tank to the brim to round the dollar to be paid. I cleaned the gas tank cap and the tank opening. However, both lights persisted. On the same day, when I turned on the car again, there was a hesitance, a stuttering to come on. Both "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights were still on.

The next day, the car wouldn't come on at all. It sounded as the battery was dead. I couldn't even jump start the car. So, I got a new battery from Costco ($59) and put it in. It took 15-20 seconds of cranking to get the car started. Once it was started, the engine sounded fine and the RPM normal. The "Check Engine" light was off. However, the "Trac Off" was still on. I cleaned the gas tank cap one more time.

The next morning, when I turned the car on, there was no problems. It came on instantly as it used to be, didn't have any warning lights, and drove smoothly.

Oil Sludge In Rocker Box and Pipes

Oil sludge found in Air Cleaner, replaced PCV and filter and cleaned and had to replace filter in 6 months due to yellow oil sludge

Yellow sludge found in system, cleaned hoses replaced filter and PCV and six months later had to repeat process

Oil sludge can be caused by a few different things including a clogged pcv valve, which you say you have changed. I don't think you have head gasket/head problems as you say you've been using the vehicle for 6 months.

However, do check your oil dipstick and see if the same sludge (also known as 'mayonnaise') is on it. Mayonnaise on a dipstick is a symptom of a defective head gasket that is allowing coolant into the oil system.

If your vehicle looses/uses coolant this may be a sign of a faulty head gasket/head.

Very short- repeated - journeys can allow sludge to form , simply because on short journeys the engine does not reach its normal operating temperature. The engine is 'cool'.

It can also be caused by a faulty thermostat. If the thermostat is jammed in the open position it can take a long time for the engine to reach normal operating temperature. Other than changing the thermostat (maybe for one that opens at a higher temperature - a ' winter' thermostat) there's no practical way of checking it. Replacement is the easiest and cheapest option. It's not a difficult job.

It's not unknown for a thermostat to have been removed by a previous owner (for various reasons..). If you're going to check if there's a thermostat there - replace it anyway.

If you're not losing/using coolant and there's no mayonnaise on the dipstick it may well be due to repeated short journeys where the engine doesn't reach normal operating temperature - or the thermostat.

The reason that sludge - or 'mayonnaise' forms is because of water content/moisture. For every gallon of fuel your vehicle uses in the combustion process, it produces 1 gallon of water. The water vapour will condense in the coolest place - and in the engine this is the rocker box and pipes. If the engine is at normal operating temperature the sludge should not form in modern engines (it happened commonly on engines in the 70s and 80s..).

Another cause of sludge - though it is black sludge - as opposed to a creamy colour, is an egr valve that needs cleaning.

The blower does not blow air when the truck is really cold. No ac nor heat. I've replaced the blower motor resister and the fuse under the hood. It worked fine right after I did this but it got colder...

It sounds like you have climate control. If you do, then you will have to check/change the climate control computer before continuing.
May I also ask with make and model of vehicle you have in case I know of any common faults.
Try cleaning the interior air temperature sensor or checking this for a fault too.

My temperature guage doesn't work at all

If you know the engine is warming up, and the cooling system is full, and you replaced the temp sender for the gauge and not the one for the engine computer if equipped, the problem may be in the instrument cluster on the dash.

Heater dont blow hot air can it be my thermosat

Yes it could be the thermostst. If you have no way to check the actual temperature of the engine and the thermostst hasn't been changed recently then I would go ahead and replace it. If that doesn't help you could have a plugged or restricted heater core or a blend door problem among other things. Good luck.

FLUSH RADIATOR, HEATER CORE AND ENGINE BLOCK.ADD 50 / 50 ANTIFREEZE AND WATER ALSO REPLACE RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP.IF TEMPERATURE GAUGE STILL STAY HIGH THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR COULD BE FAULTY.
