Have you checked the relay between the battery and the starter?
i had a ltd 2 that suddenly refused to start after trying everything else it turned out to be a little black box(relay) on the fender well between battery and everything else!

SOURCE: 2003 chevy cavilar, won't stay running

It sounds like you may have a cloged fule filter, start with that and then check to see if your fuel pump had gone bad. Most likely it's your fuel filter if it's never been changed. The other common problems is a partial clog to the injectors but i don't think that is the problem here. Good luck

SOURCE: 1992 Ford Festiva engine getting

Sounds to me like a classic case of a failed or slipped timing belt. If your timing belt is worn, stretched out etc and it slips a few teeth your car will not run, but it will still spark, just at the wrong time. Pick up a timing light for 40 bucks before you go throwing hundreds of dollars into parts you don't need. Check your timing on #1 cylinder v/s the crankshaft pully marks. If you don't know how to do this already I will explain it if you ask me. If you are not getting spark at all, then your belt may be completely broken. So, you have to determine if you get spark, and if it is timed correctly. Buy that timing light, it comes in sooo handy. It will pay for itself very quickly because you wont be pouring money into un-necessary parts.

2006 ford Taurus, cold start perfect, run perfect. However, when restart the car when it is hot, no fuel pump sound, no start, gave code P0191 p1233. Any ideas, thanks.

  • If you haven't changed the Fuel Filter in the last 30,000 miles, please do that and follow it with adding Fuel Injector Cleaner to the fuel tank.
  • If there is a fuel pressure test port then please check the pressures.
  • If the fuel pressure is low then check the fuel pressure regulator.
  • If all does not works, please refer a certified mechanic locally.

1988 Ford F350 460,fuel injected, Wont start,,, Coil only sends spark once per revolution of the rotor

Hello Donn,

UN-fortunately 1988 is WELL before the OBD
(on board diagnostic)... DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE
Codes (DTC) got standardized...

So DAYS can be wasted looking for commonality...
(troubles).

Rather than assuming your spark, timing, fuel, ECU...
Oxygen Sensors. INJECTORS are all askew...

I would suggest that if you SATURATED YOUR
HEADER BOLTS with LIQUID WRENCH...

and opened you EXHAUST ahead of your catalytic
converters... ahead of your mufflers... you engine would run...

Obviously DANGEROUS to operate in that condition... at
least you would know what had to be REPLACED before
you can operate your vehicle SAFELY.

If you decide the job is a bit too much... at least
check out your PURCHASE cost of a replacement
CAT and/or MUFFLER...

2003 Range rover won't start

Very likely the fuel pump has failed, if you mean you tapped on the gas tank
and it finally started. When a pump fails, sometimes rapping on the tank will re-energize it briefly or maybe even a couple of times before it gives out for good.
If you were tapping on the gas pedal, though, and it just started, your mechanic will have to look at it. Too many electrical fault possibilities, Scott, it needs proper diagnosis to find the p[roblem.

2002 Ford Explorer ran out of gas put gas in and won't restart. replaced fuel pump and fuel filter still won't start. Cranks but won't start

Most Fords have a fuel reset button. When you ran out of gas you tripped the circuit. Most of the time the button will be on the passenger side by the kick panel. The exact location should be in your owners manual or your local library or auto parts store will have a copy of one for your specific vehicle.

You say you redid the whole fuel system which means what? From the sound of it the in line fuel filter may be blocked. If you replaced the pump this would be ruled out, if you were not in the tank the strainer on the pump may be blocked. Without knowing what "replacing the complete fuel system entailed" this is where I would start.
