Likely to be the steering pump fluid level. if it is just top it up, that very cheap to do. If any parts need replacing then prices very but tend to be expensive with Toyota so try fluid first I doubt there will be anything wrong with the pump or ram

SOURCE: loud noise when turning wheel

That red fluid is power steering fluid. You may not have lost enough yet to register but you will. You need to determine whether it's leaking from a cracked hose (which I've seen on Toyota products), or from the steering rack itself, and from there the course of repair can be determined.

SOURCE: Noise when turning the steering wheel

Sounds like a Power Steering Whine to me. Simply check your power steering fluid. If it is low, there is a leak somewhere. If not it's possible the pump may be on it's way out.

SOURCE: noise in front end when steering wheel is turned

Try replacing the Sway bar bushings first, 10 to 1 they need it anyway, this should fix the creaking noise. If this dose not solve the problem then check the power stearing fluid & top off if needed, then right after you do this, start the van and have some one you trust turn the stearing wheel hard left and hard right for 2 min., and you get under the front of the van and look for a power steering fluid leak, if you find a leak replace leaking line or part. If this dose not solve the problem in some rare cases the power stearing box or pitmen arm is bad and you should not try to do this at home. seek a full auto shop.

SOURCE: 2005 Kia Sorento gurgling noise behind dash

Check the water coolant level because some of the hot water goes into the heater radiator behind the dash. Seems you have air in the system.

Rubbing noise in steering column

Omg worn out rotors will not make your steering wheel make rubbing noises. Some ppl should just read and not write. There is a rubber boot that your steering shaft goes through on the fire wall .sometimes it dries out .if you lube it with silicone paste .not petroleum based.it might help.do it from inside the car.under dash .or it might be clock spring .or rotary coupler in steering wheel. You might just try to lube .the hen if it don't work take to dealer.if it don't help.

The ringing noise could be from a bad alternator, a loose bolt, a loose pulley or gear or possibly a low fluid level in the power steering pump. Try listening for the noise when the engine is idling, then as you rev the motor from 1000 to 1800rpm and also while you are driving on the street and the highway. While the car is in park and running, crank the steering wheel right and/or left until it stops and hold it there to listen for noises from the power steering. The electronic gurgling noise and chattering noises could be failing bearings in one of the pulleys (tensioner, idler, etc. and/or possibly a water pump bearing. Here is a tip for diagnosis- Find 3/8 drive extension that is at least 12" to 18" long. Open the hood and start the car. Take one end of the extension and place it on the alternator body away from any electrical connections, pulleys, belts, etc. and put your ear against the other end and listen for chattering, ringing or any other odd noise. Then do the same to the p/s pump, a/c compressor, etc. BE SURE YOU SAFELY APPLY THIS TECHNIC AND IF YOU DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE, TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL. SAFETY FIRST.

2001 chrysler voyager makes loud noise when steering left and right - manual says lubricate steering wheel shaft. How is that done?

the shaft itself cannot be lubricated. at the bottom of the steering column under the dash move the carpet out of the way as much as possilble and look at the rubber boot, spraying somm sylicone lube in there will get rid of a rubbing noise. if it is making a clunking noise when steering look at the tie rods for loosesness. if it clunks when hitting bumps look at the ball joints and more than likely the stabilizer bushings at the lower controlarms and the body where it is attatched are worn out, this is quite common..

Steering wheel makes grinding noise when it is turned

it could be low on powersteering fluid, its just vibrating through the colum so you could check that first, or it could be the steering wheel shroud the plastic that covers the colum behind the steering wheel, take it off and see if it still does it,check fluid first though...hope this helps
