SOURCE: can not find location of fasher unit on a

Very common problem in Tiburons for flashers to stick on. One solution (you can probably find detailed instructions newtiburon.com) is to replace the correct relay on the Body Control Module (bcm mentioned by q_tipj83). This is very hard. Much easier is to go online and find a salvage yard who has a BCM. I got one for $100, as opposed to $500 for a rebuilt one that is hard to find or $1000 at the dealer. they gave me a 90-day guarantee and everything has been fine with it. At the above prices, you could buy severl used BCMs and still come out ahead.

By the way, the BCM is the box to which theh under-dash fuzebox is attached.

Flasher location relay

On a 1993 olds ciera, the flasher unit for the T/S is clipped to the ashtray mount bracket. Remove the ashtray and the flasher will be on the passenger side of the bracket. The emergency flasher unit is located to the right of the glove box when facing the box. It is hidden behind the Multi -fuction alarm module.

The directional signals in my car stopped working. I don't begin to know what fuse to change...can you please help me Thank you

if the signals stopped working, ( yet they light up, just don't flash) then its not a fuse you need, its a flasher unit, the flasher is a 3 prong, square unit that is located just above the emergency break pedal on the inside face of the lower dash panel. To replace this flasher you should start by removing the 2, 9/32" bolt head retaining screws holding the black access panel just above the break pedal. Lay down on your back and look up inside the dash. You may find the round hazard flasher high just above your head, this is not it. Stick you hand up along the panel in front of the emergency break pedal just behind the trunk release button. Locate with your hand a 2 inch long square relay box and move it to unhook it from it's clip. (If the flasher is the factory flasher it will have a metal clip retaining it under the dash. Your new part will not have this clip.) Route the old flasher and wire down so that it hangs from under the dash. Now you can see it and disconnect it. There are multiple connectors, but only three of them line-up and actually have metal receptors inside the socket. Take note of the removal of the flasher so you are not confused during reinstallation. I think the other connectors are for additional features not needed in the US. Take the part to the parts store or just replace with new one. Relocate the flasher safely up in the dash in relatively the same place and make sure it won't move around. return the black panel to its position above the break pedal and replace the 2, 9/32" retaining screws. Where is the electronic flasher located ?

  • Kneel down under the steering wheel .
  • Look up and to the right of the steering wheel at the edge of the vinyl molding for the dash ,you would see a screw holding it. But in reality, the screw is through a metal plate that slides over the top of the flasher unit. And the screw does not actually screw through the unit.
  • Remove the metal plate and you can see electronic flasher unit.
  • You can replace your old flasher with new flasher you have bought! and before you replace it,sandpaper the terminal ends. It would provide good connection if there is some problem with the connection.
Cheers!!!

Location diagram for1996 chev blazer turn signal flasher unit

Flashers: The convenience center is used to centrally locate various buzzers, relays, flashers and/or circuit breakers. The turn signal and hazard flasher units are usually located in the convenience center located just below the instrument panel on the drivers side. Replace the flasher by unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one. Confirm proper flasher operation.

Hope helps.

Need to replace signal light flasher can not find old one

The turn signal flasher and hazard units are usually located located under the dash either to the left or right of the steering column on most models:
  1. Remove the turn signal flasher unit or hazard unit by pulling them up from the electrical connection.
  2. To install, push the unit(s) into the electrical connector.
Also, I suggest check your repair manual in this link: Jeep ZJ-Secc-8W-Wiring-Diagrams

Hope helps (remember rated this).

Where is the flasher indicator unit located in a 1996 cutlass ciera

I just replaced the turn signal flasher today in my 1996 Olds Ciera. It was not near the steering column. It's actually behind the fuse box in the glove box but the easiest way to get to it is to remove the ashtray/cigarette lighter and it's harness and reach back to the right behind the fuse box. It took all of 10 minutes to replace. This is not the same as the hazard flasher, just the turn signal one.

Grand cherokee 2001 flashers dont work but hazards do...v odd??

The hazards and the flashers are on seperate circuits. When the flashers are working properly you will hear a clicking during operation. If not, check all the bulbs. If both flashers don't work it may be a blown fuse, faulty flasher unit or a loose wire or connection.Probably the flasher unit.Make sure the new one is the same as the old one by comparing the two,On yours, its a combination flasher and hazard unit.It will need to be replaced.its small and cost is minimal. When you do replace the unit, disconnect the neg. cable from the battery. The unit relay may be blue in color.Hope this helps

The flashers are located behind the instrument panel trim, roughly between the base of the steering wheel and the ashtray, just to the left of the car lighter. To access the flashers, you need to at least loosen the lower instrument panel trim. Just under the steering column there are two screws with star heads. One to the left of the column and one to the right. You need to remove both of these screws. You will need to remove your ashtray. On the upper left corner of the hole left by removing the ashtray is a 9/32 hex head screw. You need to remove it. Once these three screws are removed you should be able to pull down on this portion of trim under your instrument cluster. When you do this it may cause trim around your instrument cluster to loosen that you can just pop back into place with your hand. You won't need to pull down to far on this trim piece as there are still some screws holding the bottom. You should be able to pull it down far enough to see the flasher units behind and just to the left of the cigarette lighter. There are two flasher units and I found that the one on the right is for the turn signals. On the left the other is for the hazard flashers. It may be a hand scraping experience to replace the flasher but it beats paying someone to do it for you. They are easy to recognize because the are silver and round metallic plug ins. The flasher unit on the left is for the emergency flashers and the one on the right is for turn signals. You can place the emergency flasher unit into the slot the turn signal unit belongs until you get a replacement. These flasher units are pretty cheap.
