Question about 2006 Toyota Sienna

Open Question

Keeps locking itself even after locking and removing the key

My Toyota Sienna started locking itself. At first when I noticed the blinkers were going on and off and it was locking and unlocking itself... I opened it manually as remote won't work and then it has been locking itself every few seconds to a minute. I tried to check what lock mode it was in, I could not find what mode it was in as the lights didn't flash but a long beep keeps coming when I put the key in the ignition.

Sounds like something isn't right.Try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if that helps. Some times the ecu gets haywired and disconnecting the battery might reset it.And if it is the original battery you might want to get it tested.

TOYOTA SIENNA MAINT REQD LITE CAME ON AFTER SCHEDULE MAINTANANCE

If the dealer/mechanic did the service early the light will come on when service is DUE. Go back to him and have it turned off. Search the web someone may have the procedure posted. Usually simple. Google "Toyota service light reset" or "Toyota Maintence light reset" Try this one
  1. With the car started (ignition on), set the LCD odometer readout to total mileage (not trip A or B).
  2. Turn the car off (ignition key to the OFF position).
  3. Push in AND HOLD the button/knob that switches the odometer
  4. Turn key to ON position without starting the car. You will notice the maintenance light blink and go out.
  5. Release the odometer button/knob.
  6. Turn key to OFF position.
  7. That's it! The "MAINT REQD" light has been reset to warn you to change your oil in another 5,000 or 7,500 miles or so.

99 Sienna pwr door lock failure

Sounds electrical/relay to me if you cannot lock by pressing the lock button on the door itself. Driver and passenger acting the same AND the remote all the same result point to only one culprit.
Let me know how it goes and best of luck!
