SOURCE: replacing non-heated left side mirror (driver's side)

This site will tell you what you need to know. good luck with this.

http://autorepair.about.com/od/otherodddiyjobs/l/aa092504a.htm. In addition to the advice at the above site, I found another trick to removing the trim around the inside door handle. The above article refers to putting a screwdriver UNDER the door handle and pushing down ... to release a "secret latch". That's the first step. The second step (which is not in the article) is to insert the scredriver ABOVE the door handle ... vertically above the spot shown in the article. Then gently press the screwdriver handle down. With the screwdriver acting as a lever, the tip of the screwdriver will push UP on the top part of the trim. That will lift the trim up off a small pin on the handle mechanism. With both the bottom and top of the trim piece now "unlatched", slide the trim toward the back of the car, while you open the inside door handle (as mentioned in the article). The trim will come right off. Be sure to slide the trim toward the back of the car, as you move the trim away from the door panel. (There is a "hooked" piece of plastic on the back of that trim that prevents you from just pulling it out perpendicular to the door panel.) 'Hope these fine points help.

SOURCE: Driver side mirror

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. You can then disconnect the cable running form the mirror to the control. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

On the '04 MDX the mirror adjustment selection switch has to be in the middle position of L & R, for the mirror to re-adjust when the car is in reverse. I hope this helps.

The drivers side mirror adjusts up and down but not side to side. Car has electric mirror adjust.

You will probably need that side mirror as the motor has failed. The motor in the mirror will control both directions, but sometimes loses the ability to control either up/down or in/out. Check the other side if it also doesn't adjust side to side I'd then suspect the mirror switch.

How to replace driver side mirror for 1995 SL1 saturn

Remove the inside cosmetic plastic panel at the front of the driver's window, there is a phillips head screw holding it on. You will have to have a very small allen wrench to take out the set screw holding the mirror adjuster knob mechanism into the plastic panel. Remove the three nuts you find under the insulation and the mirror will come loose. Reinstall in reverse order.

Drivers side mirror resets to up position when door is opened on a 2004 volvo s60

That is probably because the setting for the mirror had been saved in the memory along with the setting for the driver's seat position (if your model has programmable memory for seat position. Set the mirror in the most convenient position and also the driver's seat. Press and hold the MEM button on your driver's seat and press any of the memory numbers. This will store those settings in the memory so that even if someone else alter these setting, the mirror and the seat will be adjusted to the memorised setting when you use the remote to open the car.

Replacing my driver side manual mirror

Pop off the trim package. Mine has the speaker tweeter in it.It is going to be the little triangle shaped one on the inside of the door. It should pull straight back and off. Disconnect the speaker wire plug wire, if so equipped. You say it is a manual adjust mirror so there should only be the one electrical plug. If it is an electric mirror there will be two.Carefully pull out the insulation. There are three star head screws, (torques head), that you will thread off. Reinstall in the reverse order and you are done. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws or you will break the mounts again. It should be just snug enough to hold firmly.

Good Luck
