What's the location of the knock sensor on a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee lerado 3.7 ,and how much to repair it

The two knock sensors are bolted into the cylinder block under the intake manifold. The two sensors share a common wiring harness using one electrical connector. Because of this, they must be replaced as a pair. 1 and 2 are the knock sensors in diagram below..

Engine knock

caused by hot and lean.
which engine.??? at least 3 choices.
most have knock sensors. and will not knock.
if it really is knock then that is serious.
knock means detonation or ping.
if its just noise say that,
real PING happens under load.
1: check fuses.
2: check knock sensor for outside damage.
3: SCAN the PCM. do you have any DTC errors/
4: do a full 60k tune up. maybe its lean because the fuel filter is clogged.

Jeep 4.7 V8 Knock under hood

It would be unlikely the number 8 rod bearing would be flapping around without causing some damage to the finish of the crankshaft journal.

The big question is why was it flapping around in the first place? Often a shortage of oil being supplied to that bearing would be the cause and the main suspect.

I suggest you revisit that bearing and take a closer look and maybe use a micrometer to check that journal.

Diagnostic Trouble Code 332 JEEP LIBERTY ? WHAT IS THIS ?

2005 Jeep will be OBD II compliant and the trouble code(s) will be 4 digits after a P,B or U. Are you sure you wrote it down right?
For example P0332 for your car is Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)

Potential causes for a P0332 DTC include (but are not limited to):

  • The knock sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
  • There is a wiring open/short/fault in the knock sensor circuit
  • The PCM/ECM has failed
Possible Solutions
  • Verify the resistance of the knock sensor (compare it to factory specs)
  • Inspect for broken/frayed wires leading to the sensor
  • Check the wiring and connections leading to/from the knock sensor and PCM/ECM
  • Verify proper voltage is reaching the knock sensor (e.g. 5 volts)
  • Verify proper grounding of sensor and circuit
  • Replace the knock sensor
  • Replace the PCM/ECM

Oil and engine lights are on

You had better Check the Oil! Once it starts Tapping you need to get the Motor looked at, Because every time it does, it is causing damage to the Motor.
