You can bypass Passkey it if the VATS module is ok. Read how here.

SOURCE: i have a 92 firebird v6 it runs and drives when

I take it the car ran and just died and now wont start at all?

Can you hear the fuel pump run for about 2 seconds when the key is first turned to ON?

Is there a security light on in the dash? Does the engine turn over/ starter working?

Check for spark. Pull the coil wire from the cap and place it close to a ground (may need a screw driver placed in the end) like an intake manifold bolt. Don't make it touch the ground, just place it close. Crank the engine over and watch for spark.

Any spark?

Check these and come back and comment with some answers and I should have an idea of where to help you further.

You must do a fault code test, anytime the check engine light comes on a fault code is set in the computer control units memory. To do this test without any special tools follow the instructions at the link below.

This is how I did it and it worked perfectly. My car was finally purring again after weeks it was dead: http://newrockies.ca/vatsbypass - the typical resistor trick did not work.

Motor suddenly goes off while driving

more likely it is a fault with the ignition, possible crank sensor or defective ignition module. Have u tested it for trouble codes? if not go to Kragen auto or Autozone they do the test for free.
