You need to try to charge the system with r-134 make sure that the r-134 has die in it. while you are at the parts store get the test kit that has glasses and a uv light. run the car for about 15 min after charging the ac system. shut off the vehicle and start searching for the leak with the glasses and the light. with all that being said i am telling you this only after you charge the ac and the compressor comes on. if the compressor does not come on after you charge the system replace the compressor, reciver dryer, and orifice tube

Where is the AC TEMP sensor located on this car?

Hello Niall MacKay,

Beautiful car!

The picture I found shows a probe (TOP RIGHT) ...

My best guess is that it lives inside an AIR DUCT...

On my cars... I have the FACTORY manuals...
failing that the Bentley Book (un-related) series manuals are pretty helpful. However finding your BOOKS has proven 2 B quite the challenge.

For unknown reasons that MOPAR sensor popped up in my many failed quests (doubtful but perhaps a helpful clue).

Good luck

I have 2007 ford sport trac, that does distribute air out vents from the vents, air does come out of windshield vents,so ac is working, what could be the problem?

Replace the HVAC Vent Blend Door Motors that have failed

Manually switch the air flow-until you have a position that does
not work

Then go to Motorcraft Parts Site & blow up the picture of their
location & write down the part # you need

Motorcraft parts are 1/3 less on Amazon, than a dealer

If you have access to a professional scan tool & go to
Enhanced Mode, it will give you the code for the failed
vent motor, you have the location from the parts site

I have a 2006 Mazda3. I noticed whenever my air conditioner or heat is on it makes a sound like a lawn mower when I acceralate. Any ideas of what this could be ?

Well, I think you can rule out the AC/heater fan inside the car. That would make noise even just sitting in the driveway.

Many/most vehicles are designed to run the AC compressor not only when the AC is on but also when the defroster is on. This is to keep the AC compressor lubricated through the winter months also.

It should not be a belt problem as that belt is always turning anyway which should then rule out the pulley bearing at the AC compressor.

I do suspect your problem is a major internal failure of the AC compressor. This can be easily checked by a technician [or yourself if qualified]. Locate the electrical connector at or to the AC compressor. Two people: With the AC turned on, in park, increase the engine speed so you can here the noise. Disconnect the AC compressor electrical connector. If the noise stops instantly, the compressor has failed. A quite expensive repair. Have a reputable shop locate a re-manufactured compressor for you. That will help some on the cost.
Bestaluckto you!!

Ac fuse location

old post
the fuse boxes are 1 in cab and 1 in the engine bay
the A/C has 2 blowers,
one in the front of car, condensor blower.
and one in the heater cab blower.
both have fuses.
why is only a matter of using the schematic and a voltmeter
to see where the voltage fails.

does the A/C work at all
does the heater fan work?
need full evidence to go to exact cause. easy

Blower motor only works on high

The blower motor only working on the high speed setting is caused by a failed part called the AC blower motor resistor, this resistor is located next to the blower motor and one engine goes into the air duct work of the AC/Heater and the other has a large electrical connector going to it.

My t cam 2001 ac light is flashing and took it to a machanic he said it wasn't frion that it was electrical...what electrical problem is it?

First, try replacing the Vent/AC air filter located behind the glove compartment. If this doesn't fix the problem, you may have a failed compressor relay, in the relay box near the battery.
If all else fails, you may have a failed compressor/clutch.

2005 toyota corolla ac is not working

the ac clutch relay fails often. It is located in the fuse box next to the battery under the hood. it is labeled M/G CLT. You can buy one from rockauto.com for $11. You can test by swapping the relay in the fuse box with a similar one. also clean or replace the cabin air filter located behind the glove box.

AC blower won't come on

The problem is most likely the AC compressor clutch connector. It is a one pin connector. Located under the hood, near the clutch of the AC compressor. Clean this connector, make sure there is a good connection. I had the same problem and had to fix it myself. Works fine ever since.

Ac problems

You need to locate the AC compressor and watch the pulley while someone turns the AC off and on to see if the clutch is engaging and actually turning the compressor.
You will have to look closely to see this because the outside pulley is always turning when the engine is on and a slim pulley between the belt-driven one should click (fairly loudly) and start doing its thing. If you don't hear any activity when the control is turned on and off, you may have a failed relay.
