Question about 2000 Buick LeSabre
There is a loud whining noise coming from driver side front. As speed increases, noise gets louder. No pulling, but had jacked up with engine accelerating and the driver side front tire moved considerably less fast than passenger. Sometimes at about 20 mph, it wasn't moving and passenger side was. IDEAS????
Could be the transmission oil level low. Maybe it requires addition of oil, or refill.
Hope this helps.

Sounds to me like power steering pump check fluid or replace the pump

One wheel turning faster than the other is normal if both wheels are off the ground. If one wheel is dragging when the other wheel is on the ground, it could be brakes or a wheel hub bearing.
Usually if the noise happens on right turns, the left hub bearing is failing, and vice versa.

I had the same problem with my 2000 Buick LeSabre last year. Took it in and they determined the wheel bearing needed to be replaced. Costs about $300 per bearing, but definitely needs to be replaced as you'd be in serious trouble if the thing went out at highway speeds.

2005 BUICK LESABRE TACHOMETER DOES NOT REGISTER WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING. SOMETIMES IT BARELY MOVES, THEN GOES BACK TO 0
SAME CAR HAD SPEEDOMETER QUIT, REPLACED WITH NEW SENSOR, DROVE ABOUT 1300 MILES AND IT QUIT AGAIN. CLEANED THE SENSOR, WORKS OK NOW.

SOURCE: loud tapping noise in engine
It sounds like you have a rod problem. If that is the case the engine will need to be taken apart to be fixed. Price varys from shop to shop but they can do a bunch of tests on it and tell you exactly what is wrong with it for about 80 to 100 dollars

sounds like a wheel bearing is going out. you need to get this checked out pretty soon because this can cause more severe problems down the road
