1991 buick park ave car surges or cuts off when brakes are hit, headlights cut on, or when radio is playing, sometimes while driving dash icons light up breifly car skips as if it wants to cut off, had battery tested holds 12 volts but tested bad. Could this be my problem?

SOURCE: no tail lights

you most likely have a short somewhere. some vehicles were designed with radio controls on the back of the steering wheel im not sure when they started doing it but thats all i can think of for the radio

Try shifting the shifter when this happens to see if it is related to the PRNDL in the transmission; you of course will have to have the key in on possition to attempt this. If this doesn't work, you will need to take it to a quaified mechanic since there are serveral test that will be needed to be find this issue, but let me assure you that the security light comes on and blinks often when starting the vehicle.

SOURCE: Can't get headlights to work on 1991 Buick Park

So you have tested nothing.
Headlights don't usually have relays,just a circuit breaker in the light switch.
As I suggested,no one knows your problem,you need to actually start to do something. Get to the light switch and do some testing with a meter. It is either working or it isn't. If it is good then you could use a wiring diagram to continue on,or have a shop do this for you.

It could be the crankshaft sensor. That's what my 2000 was acting like until it was replaced.

My abs light comes on after driving for a few minutes and stays on. After that if I pump the brakes it sometimes slips and stalls and studders (like it would if I were to suddenly hit the brakes hard)....


that could be right, it could also be the sensor. something like your brakes i would listen to the dealer and have replaced. however, i know that on bmw's they have a tendancy to come on for what seems to be no reason and they havent figured it out yet. play it safe, have it replaced at the dealer.

The brake light came on and brake pressure went to zero


warning light activates when it senses low fluid lvls. chk your brake fluid then chk for leaks.

How can i bypass


You've got a tough one here...can you crawl under the dash of your Buick? Do you know how to use a multimeter?
If you answered "yes" to BOTH these questions you're 75% of the way there!
#1. remove the lower "shelf" part of the dash directly under the steering wheel. Locate the TWO Orange wires coming from the steering column. Using a multimeter, place the pos/neg probes on either side of the tiny metal chip on your ignition key...read the value. go to Radio shack and buy that value of resistor and pick up wire "crimp" connectors for 12-14ga wiring. Cut the Orange wires and bare 1/2" of each end. Crimp the resistor between Orange wires using the crimp connectors.

Leaking brake line


u can use metal pipe sections but not recommended may b cheaper to replace whole pipe certainly a lot easier t fit
