This sounds like an issue with your AntiTheft. Your car has "AntiTheft" installed. All Chryslers do. So if there is an issue with your key, your car will start and then die.

Just a thought, it could be the antitheft system "passlock" this can turn your injectors off if not functioning correctly. (that's the antitheft, can't run with no injectors). You would see a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. This link explains.

I see this problem so often, go to this link for a little bit of insight on the problem and DO IT YOURSELF ways to work around the antitheft system. Your car is has the Passlock antitheft system.

This could very possibly be the antitheft system failing. Gm has had issues with this system since the 80's. When the system fails, the car will crank but not start. Might run for a second or more and then die. If these symptoms sound similar to yours, the antitheft might be the issue. Also look for a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. Impossible to hotwire unless antitheft system is bypassed. The key holds a transponder in it that is a crucial part of the antitheft system. Without the key or bypassing the antitheft, the vehicle will not run.

yes, the anti theft system runs thru the radio. Either the radio is going bad and causing the antitheft to kick in, or the antitheft is bad and faulting the radio. I just went thru this in my girlfriends 01. Ended up installing after market radio and bypassing the security system. I bypassed thee antitheft security first, and the car worked just fine, but I didn't get any radio till I installed a new radio. This may be due to the antitheft system. This is actually pretty common on GM cars. Try to start your car, when it doesn't start, look for a light on the dash that says "security" out has a picture of a car with a lock thru it. If you see this, the antitheft is the problem. well what happened was when you jumped the battery you scrambled the memory on the antitheft system and the electrical signals are not being fed from the ecm which is the brain inside the module. it is the computer which controls all the functions of the car.
