SOURCE: Battery No Charge and Error codes

These are for 4.9L

P016-generator voltage out of range--Voltage is below 10 volts or above 16 volts with engine at 500rpm.

P030-Idle speed control (ISC) out of range--Check ISC for operation

A047-very low A/C refrigerant condition warning--check refrigerant level

I039-speed sensing suspension (SSS) fault--this one requires a lot of testing. Could be anything from bad connection at a strut, to bad ground, to bad strut.

I041-battery voltage too low--at 800 rpm, voltage is less than 10.6 volts

I052-keep alive memory error--means IPC lost voltage, and reset. Normal if battery was disconnected, or lost voltage.

These codes are for 4.6L

I039-loss of road sensing suspension (RSS) data--might need to replace rss module

P016-generator voltage out of range--same as above.

If you need anything else, let me know.

Pick up coil

Have heard of condensation causing that problem on distributor caps. Don't know why it couldn't be a problem for coils. Maybe a crack getting moisture inside.

My cadillac deville has a code PO85 on it what does it mean

You just need to clean the throttle body. Take the air duct off and hold the throttle blades wide open (engine off). Spray the throttle bores beneath the blades with carb cleaner and scrub with an old tooth brush. clean the back side of the throttle plate also. The junk and gunk is plugging up the air flow past the blade at closed throttle and the idle speed control is running out of authority to open the blade. It just needs a thorough cleaning. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds when you are done to reset the idle learn offsets.

While you are in there and have the blades of the throttle body wide open....see those two tubes sticking up at you from the floor of the manifold?? Those are the EGR delivery tubes and they are NOT supposed to be full of carbon.... Rod them out with a piece of stiff coat hanger wire and carb spray to get them cleaned out.

1994 Cadillac DeVille Concourse - Runs rough?

The "check engine" light will "light" when there is a malfunction in the engine management system. The fault code is then stored in the computer. The computer must be scanned to retrieve these stored faults to pinpoint the malfunctioning component. We recommend buying your own scanner and doing it yourself. With a pocket scanner you can check for fault codes to find out why the light came on in the first place. You can clear your cars trouble codes after you replace the malfunctioning sensors.
