I have a 2009 Ford Focus, I keep an eye on the little light that tells me what my average miles per gallon is. It usually stays in the 30 to 32 mgp range but yesterday I noticed that it had dropped to 28...

The most likely problem is that the gas you bought most recently was a "summer blend" designed to give you LESS MPG! That's because the companies want more profits, NOT better fuel economy, which would give those companies LESS profits instead of MORE profits!

you can never go wrong with what the factory used, motorcfaft avoid any of the so called high perforamce parts, most of this parts will hurt the fuel millage and perforamce unless you change the coils and other sensors in order for this parts to work properly. as for gas mileage when the van was new it was rated at 12 mpg city 16mpg highway

Audi A4 Quatro 2001 2.8 L, V6 using 14 gallons every 200 miles does it sound like somthing is wrong with that car?

Your vehicle is rated at 16mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Your vehicle works out to 14.28 mpg. It depends if your driving in the city or on the highway. In the city, this would be acceptable, on the highway this would be very poor though. Also, it could depend on the actual mileage of your vehicle, as a engine wears out, often the car loses a small amoubt of efficiency, which would in turn lose a few mpg's. A few things you could do to improve your mpg would be to change your spark plugs to E3 type from made by Bosch, they give me at least an extra 3 mpg on my Honda Accord. Also make sure you have a clean air filter and a new fuel filter, all of these will pay for themselves at the pump after a short amoubnt of time. Happy Motoring! :)

I have a 05 nissan sentra and it rides great, but the gas mileage is terrible only getting approximately 18-20 mpg. What may be the problem. I upgraded the gas octane.

you need to change the spark plugs and wires to properly burn the gas fully then you can just get agood oil change and you would get better gas mileage

Sorry no the sending unit in your tank is bad replace it. If you are sure of amount of as you have and you know your average MPG you could wait till your tank is low so as not to waste much gas Give yourself a 3MPG reduction for error accountability.
