No valve movement on 320 John Deere lawn tractor.

the jd 320 lawn tractor is fitted with a 2 cylinder water cooled vertical shaft Kawasaki engine
parts numbered -j59051 and , I 59051 show it as a gear driven cam shaft

First gear engages but slips out when try to take off

the gear teeth are prob worn. see if it will try to moves off in 3rd without jumping out of gear if so then its not the lever/linkage it is the gear teeth inside the gearbox and needs to be repaired or replaced

03 kawasaki vn800. Shifts fine, but while IN second as I throttle up it jerks. More throttle,more frequent jerking. Only happens in second. No loss of power, nothing in other gears. Need it fixed!

Hi Adam:
If you eliminate engine issues then it becomes transmission.
I would start by changing the spark plugs and draining/flushing the fuel system. Run some carb/injector cleaner additive.
If there is ANY mechanical noise associated with the problem then you may have an issue with gear engagement dogs in the transmission.

My 03 Kawasaki Bayou 250 will slip out of 5th gear and sometimes will not go into 5th it has a fresh oil change and the right amount of oil

id have a professional take a look at your gear case , there sometimes is too much free play in trip lever for gears and it cant reach the farthest ones , also it could be the trip lever or case has been damaged by hitting something (happens) this will move the end play of trip lever too far away to reach end gears , removing a gear case side is a little too extreme unless your a professional mechanic as there are lots of tiny bearings and things inside there to move/loose not to mention the almost half a gallon of gear lube thats gonna run out

86 kx250 stuck in 5th gear

Yes you will have to split the engine and more than likely have to replace the 5th gear shift fork. It can be a common fault with this model kawasaki. New old stock part is not available so you will need to locate a good second hand one.

It is difficult to change gear from high gear to low gear, it is not as easy as going to high gear. Model Kawasaki Fury 125 (2008)

I am assuming when you say changing from high gear to low gear you are talking about changing the chain drive gears if so yes it can be difficult because the rear wheel must be removed and also the front sprocket must be held stationary in order to unscrew the hold down nut, this is usually the hardest part of the job but not impossible. Don't forget that most people that change the sprockets to increase off the line torque usually change the sprocket in sets unless you want to shorten or lengthen the chain, sometimes this si neccessary other times the chain slack adjustment range will allow you to get away with not needing to lengthen the chain, this only applies to people who decide not to chain the sprockets as a set.
