A salvage yard should have the interchange books to tell you for sure. You'll need the model of each one, like 4L80 or 4L60.

SOURCE: 1992 Chevy Suburban rpms jump at 60+ mph

When the transmission jumps the extra RPM by 200 or 300 RPM. That's your Torque Converter Clutch lock up disengaging or it's slipping. Pull the transmission dip stick out and check the fluid level and condition of the fluid, look to see that it's not burning. If the fluid is not burning then it's the Torque converter clutch unlocking and the Throttle position Sensor may need to be readjusted, or if the transmission is still running off a TV cable. The TV cable may need to be adjusted and or the transmission filter may be dirty and needs to be changed. Take it to a transmission shop and explain to them what the transmission is doing. I'm not sure if your transmission is an 4L80 or a 4L80E. If it's the 4L80E the PCM and ECM control the lock up to your converter. If the PCM detects a problem with the transmission, it drops the transmission fluid pressure to the converter clutch. If it's a 4L80, it's controlled by the TV cable and vacuum lines to the transmission modulator. Regardless they can look in to this when they change the transmission fluid and filter. Recap: Have the Suburban's ECM scanned for any transmission DTC codes. Service the transmission if the fluid is dark in colour and burnt. Adjust any linkage to the transmission that is an issue to it's performance. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

Not enough information to go by, so for starters, check the transmission fluid level, check for engine code(s), check for defective O2 sensors, check for defective catalytic converter, check for blown/missing fuse for transmission, check for defective transmission switch. When was the last time the vehicle had a tune up? Was the vehicle serviced, how recent (might have a loose connector)? Is the gas cap serviceable? These would be where I would start looking, then worse-case-scenario might be a bad transmission. Otherwise, the information given indicates that the vehicle went into limp mode.

Will a transmission from a1998 Chevy Suburban 4x4 fit a 1997 Chevy 4x4 1500?

Check the trans serial/ model numbers to get better info. The only changes could be the gearing ratio's for different models. Go online to one of the bigger 4X4 owners forums and see if its answered there.

Will the transmission from a 1998 chevy 1500 fit in my 2001 chevy 1500

The transmission in question is called, "4L60E" There are two versions. The 4L60E ran from 1992-1997. Then the 4L60E was updated and ran that version from (1996-2010). In 2002 GM introduced the 4L65E. So YES you should not have a problem fitting a 1998 chevy 1500 with a 4L60E into a 2001 Chevy 1500 with a 4L60E. You didn't mention that both were 2wd or 4wd. You can not convert a 2wd into a 4wd. I hope that helps, good luck.

Will a 1989 gmc sierra transmission fit a 1997 chevy silverado

No.. we just went and replaced our 97 chevy transmission...It has to be that year of a truck...97 Yukon, Tahoe, Sierra or Silverado...That is it.. When chevy made that year of the truck they only made that transmission for one year. You will need to make sure that it either a split transmission which means the torque convertor is separate from the bell housing unit. Call any transmission shop they will tell you the same thing. and that transmission are hard to find.

1992 chevy suburban 4WD , the heater control with the 7 buttons and the LCD screen went out. Replaced with 3 of them , still have no heater, or blower motor? power is going to 4 spots on the wire harnes,...

if you are familiar whit the car,go where the blower is,on top of that ,just a little to the left, there is a connector, dont remember if they are 4 or 5 wires, that plug goes into the resistence for the blower, check signal depending in what speed you have,as for the heater, check blown fuses, warn cables.
