My b2200 1988 mazda truck over heats, what could it be?

My truck has 162059 miles on it, runs great except its started over heating. we found a crack in coolant hose and fixed that, were thinking may have very slow leak in radiator, but for most part radiator holds water.

A slow leak shouldn't cause it to run hot, radiators can't be fixed, must be replace,it could be partially clogged, best to replace, get at Autozone, they have lifetime warranty,I use them, also replace the radiator cap, your thermostat may not be fully opening, your water pump could be bad.

SOURCE: I own a 1990 Mazda 626. It continues to run hot.

have you checked your
thermostat, most of the time it is that make sure that you check that your water pump is also working if after you have checked all this you must check and flush your whole radiator system.

2000 mazda 626 over heating

After a radiator refill start and run engine till hot then top up . If it still overheats it may have a compression leak or a cracked head . after the engine is hot ,fit a pressure gage to the radiator run engine under load and if pressure rises quickly it has leak or crack .

Truck runs for 10 miles and dies then wont start for 10 mins

Sounds like a part of the electronic ignition is heating up, and opening (an electronic component ) after is cools it closes and you can start. I had something similar and use can air to cool down the electronic till I found which component was bad. Try and time how long the truck runs rather than miles. It may help you isolate the problem.

My 1997 Subaru Outback Legacy Limited started jerking when in Drive- between first and 2nd gears. I then started driving in 2nd / 3rd, then drive. When in traffic very long time, would not engage at all...

Sounds like the transmission has reached the end of service life. I have a 93 that did the same thing. It would drive until the transmission heated up then nothing, except for reverse. I had a TRW rebuild transmission installed and now my 93 Legacy has 500,000 miles. $2,200 to repair vs $25,000 to replace. The only thing you would miss is the new car smell for a few weeks. But you can keep $20,000 plus.

jackr544: May or maynot be problem, but check your magnetic pick-up inside coil. I had this problem on another vehicle, and after it heats up (if there is a minute crack) it will expand when heated and cease to run. Cools down, contracts, starts up and runs.

Heat does not work

We had the same problem, I have a 94 too and there was no heat. We found out it was the heater core. We had to change it since it was broken and leaking coolant everywhere. After we changed it, we have heat and runs great. Now, if u are mechanically inclined or have someone to help u, u can get the schematics of the part and do it yourself. That is what we did since my husband is a mechanic, but this is not a one man job. The only problem is, if u have no help and have to take it somewhere, it will cost u a fortune. In PA the cost of fixing it is approximately $967 and some change.
Hope this helps.

Looking at a 2004 mazda6 and seems great except for noise

i just brought mine in under warranty for the same problem. it is most likely the purge valve like mine. mazda replaced it and it does the same thing. it is nothing to be worried about it is just the sound of the valve opening and closing. these are great cars.
