Question about 2004 Volvo S60

Open Question

2004 Volvo S60 wont start after Jump

My friend left the parking lights on the other day and drained the battery as well as set the alarm off without being able to turn it off. After he stopped the alarm he just got the clicking noise which is usual for leaving the lights on. However, when he jumped the car all the electrical systems stopped working. Now when I try to jump it nothing happens. I checked the fuses and even replaced some just to make sure but still nothing. Are there any relays or specific things I should check? Please Help

Intermittent problem starting 2002 volvo s60.

the symtoms you describe sounds like a battery fault. but if you have had the battery properley tested and is good then you either have something discharging the battery intermittantly ie. trunk light staying on or a high resistance in the main battery leads or earth connections

Have a 1996 Volvo 850... left the light on and drained battery... nothing worked except that: I jumped car and noticed that alarm went off and I actually did the above and took neg. lead off then alarm...

sounds like you need a new battery, also have the alternater checked. as far as the alarm, you should be able to disarm the system by locking and unlocking the passengers door, then the drivers door with the key, when the door are closed

Needs a jump every day

It sounds like the battery has a dead cell in it. Replace the battery. If you have an alarm installed remove the in line fuse from the alarm and see if that stops the battery drain.

Battery on my volvo s60 running flat within three days whether the car is runing or not, noyhing left switched on and boot light is working ok, battery is new and tested ok and the alternator is woking...

You got to have a leakage of current from a wire to the body of the car which is draining he battery all the time. Look for the fault using a line tester.............sodeep

change battery cables.if your battery over 5 years over replace it.i had same problem with batteries after 5 years .i am looking at starter you replace starter relay . but the starter could have a open circuit.take it off have it tested at auto zone or advance auto. they wont charge you to test it.
