Question about 2005 Buick Rendezvous

Open Question

Intermittent brake lights

I have a 2005 Buick Rendezvous with intermittint brake lights. Here is the rundown. Sometimes it is the left, right, both, or it works perfect. I found that if it is acting up the way to get the light(s) working is to use the turn signal switch in the direction that the light is not working. This corrects the problem most of the time. If this does not correct the problem then you have to restart the SUV. That will restore operation. Another thing is if the ignition is off and a brake light won't light the turn signal will not make a difference, the ignition has to be on. I have replaced front and rear lights, Turn signal switch and ignition switch (both origional GM parts)with the same problem

SOURCE: The turn signal switch on 1998 Buick Park Avenue

REplacing of the turn signal switch invoves the removal of the air bag and steering wheel for acess to the switch ( reminder to unplug the yellow connector for the air bag under dash first).

SOURCE: No tail lights or turn signal, just running lights and flashers

I had the same problem about a month ago myself. I had to replace a fuse which was under the driver side under the dash it cost me $6 to replace. I cant remember the name of the part but call a auto store and explain to them the problem. I think it was called a relay fuse or something! Good luck with that!

SOURCE: turn signal not working

i had this same problem and i alleviated it by replacing the column switch which isnt an easy task and I used a manual (which can be obtained at the library for free or you can buy one at your loccal book or auto parts shop)

SOURCE: 95' Buick regal, 3rd brake light works, tail

I dont have a diagram but the brake light switch has to feed the turn signal switch, Either that wire has a bad connection, or the turn signal switch is bad. Jiggle the turn signal lever and see if the brake lights try to work.

2005 buick rendezvous thermostat

here is a pic of the thermostat housing in case you dont know what it looks like. its a very easy part to change although sometimes they are hard to get to. just make sure you do not put the thermostat in backwards the coil on the thermostat should go towards the hot side (coolant coming from the engine)
