SOURCE: how to get the service code without dignostic gadget

You will not retrieve your codes without a scanner. If you take your vehicle to your local "autozone" store, they will scan it for you for free. After a scan they will give you the codes, and tell you what they mean.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

My car is Nissan np300 2011 and is showing the code p1622 inj adj val unregistered this was after fitting new injectors what can that be

Sometimes (depending on the vehicle) the light will not go out by itself (after fixing the problem). If so, _must_ be reset (''cleared'') by a code reader tool. It is also possible you still have a different problem. Only the service book can tell you meaning of the codes. (Not a book you can buy at an auto parts store, but a dealer service manual for that specific vehicle).

What does the service code B2AAA mean?

You must have a code reader that is CAN enabled. CTSs as early as '04 require a CAN enabled reader. the 06 cts uses a CAN OBD-II CODE READER/EOBD SCANNER. When buying the scan or code reader for your vehicle, make sure it supports the Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol. CALL THE DEALER OR AUTO-ZONE MAY BE ABLE TO TELL YOU THE PROPER NAMED SCANNER TO USE. GOOD-DAY !

What does the "service engine now" light mean?

Keep in mind that two warning there, Check Engine and Service Engine Soon; Check Engine means there is a malfunction... Service Soon is reprogrammable, when you change you oil.

"Check Engine" are refer to the emission codes, but not always. I suggest visit some autozone ot autoshop with scan tools or "reader code" to know exactly what fault code is stored there. With this code number we could send you additional details.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

Service engine soon light is on does not show any codes what could it be

The service engine light should only come on when the PCM detects a fault in one or more of the systems it controls. It should also store codes.
If a simple code reader was hooked up to read the codes perhaps the code reader is only good for the generic codes and your PCM has model specific codes stored in it. Some code readers cannot read those codes. A shop scanner may be needed to get codes.

2000 grand am se abs light an trac off light and service engine soon light stays on, but i got the car scan and no codes come up

If you had the car scanned with a generic OBDII code reader (Which is what they use at all the parts stores) this is probably why it is not showing any codes. You have "Vehicle Specific" codes. This means that the problem with your Check Engine light is not a problem that will generate a "generic" OBD code. A generic OBD code reader will not read codes from your Antilock Brake System or your Traction Control System at all... You need to have it scanned professionally by someone who has the proper equipment and software to access the Controller Area Network (CAN) in your vehicle.

I put new spark plugs and boots and the engine still idels rough, do you have any ideal what it could be? The car has a 107,000 miles

We need to know why the service engine light is illuminated. The only way to do this is to have the system scanned for trouble codes. You can take the car to almost any auto parts store, Auto zone, Napa, Checkers, Schucks, and Murray's. They will hook up a scan tool/OBDII code reader and retrieve the code/s that have triggered the service engine soon light. This is important, you don't want to replace things randomly it can get very expensive and may not correct the problem. Bring the code/s back here and we will be more able to diagnose whats going on. These are complex computer controlled systems, and the codes are a major factor in diagnoses.

Service soon engine light is on and it wont go off.

Did you have the computer checked to see what code or codes come up? If not and you have an Advanced Auto store near by they check computer codes for free. They hook up their code reader and it shows the code or codes and lists what the code means.

1994 Buick Lesabre service engine soon light. Can't read code.

I found several shops in my area, Albany, NY that had the older code readers. It worked fine, and cost me $30.00. It showed a bad O2 sensor that I replaced myself. I suggest you go to a reliable shop. Auto Zone/Advance etc.. do not have the right code readers. Joe

Service engine soon light on. failed aircare.showing code po341 .

The service engine light DOES NOT mean change your oil. The change oil or maintence required light means change oil. The service engine light is the same as a check engine light and means that there is something (not always really bad) is going on with your motor and need someone that has a code reader to let you know what the code is. Yes that code is a camshaft position sensor code. It is located on the passenger side of the engine in the "valley" between the two cyclinder heads. Its not too hard as long as you have some tools and some skills. Its easiest to remove the serpentine belt and remove the bolts for the power steering pump. That way you can move the pump a little to gain better access to remove the cam sensor. Just replaced one yesterday on a 99 century. Hope that helps!
