Question about Cars & Trucks
There are MANY causes of this. I would start by checking the starter itself. If that tests out good there is a starter relay in the fuse panel under the hood of the vehicle (Left, drivers side) and also in that same fuse panel is a 30 amp fuse labeled "MAIN" that fuse is a dedicated fuse for power to the starter relay (terminal # 5 on the relay). The locations of the relay and fuse should be marked under the cover of that fuse panel. Then there are other causes such as bad wiring, the park/neutral switch, and the ignition switch. There are some testing procedures for the relay and checking wiring. Not sure how mechanically inclinde you are but if you are and have or can get a test light and an ohm/volt meter feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll be happy to email you the procedures. Hope this helped....

Here are the most common causes of surges, stalls at stops, low erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation, it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

If it has been sitting for quite some time the fuel will go stale or condensed with water (water will sit on the bottom of wherever the fuel is....
1. Drain Fuel Bowl on Carburettor
2. Replace fuel filter
3. Drain off about 5 liters out of hte bottom of the tank.
REconnect all lines of system you have dissasembled and crank to see if it will start.... if no good within 1 minute of cranking... you may need to completely drain fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel.
To Prevent this from happening in the future you need to store with a full tank and blank off any vents to prevent air from entering the fuel system.... remove when coming out of storage and start!
