Sounds like a Belt or timing chain is slapping inside the Cover ,,, usually a sign that your Belt or chain tensioner is broken ,,, i wouldn't run it to long ,,as it will skip and do serious engine damage ,,GET IT TOWED TO A TRUSTED SHOP !!!

2005 mini cooper has loud humming noise from rear when driving above 40 mph. Any suggestions on what this could be

I had a similar issue and it ended up being a broken wheel bearing. I even ended up having two, one was broken on my front passenger side, and one broken on my rear driver side. The part costs about $280.00, but could cost around $400.00 with service repair. The noise of a broken wheel bearing can sound like a humming, and over time it becomes louder. The car can be driven with a broken wheel bearing, but doing so can eventually lead to other wheel/tire maintenance. MINI's endure this commonly due to their low profile to the ground. Here is a forum on further issues experienced, including the bearing, and efforts towards recalls. http://newmini.wordpress.com/2009/02/17/mini-cooper-power-steering-failure/#comment-884

2003 mini cooper drivers door will not lock with key fob or inside lock switch, will only lock manually turning the key. All other locks work properly.

A solenoid operates the lock mechanism. Does it make a 'click' when the switch is operated? If so, then the linkage connecting the solenoid core to the lock has probably come undone. If no click, then the solenoid itself may be defective or the wiring to it is broken or disconnected at some point. Either way, the inside door panel must be removed to access. Hope this helps!

At what kms do the timing and supercharger belts need replacing on 2005 mini cooper s

A 2005 mini cooper s does not have a timing belt. the engine is driven by chain and is probably good food for 200000 miles or untill they start rattling.
You will just need to inspect the super charger belt. If there are no cracks in it it will be fine.

Mini s cooper engine fan does not come on have replaced thermostat and switches fan workes when you put 12v to it

Look for a small door in the ductwork, with a few wires connected to it. This is the resistor board. Pull it out and see if any of the wires are broken. They are just curly wires that look like springs but, they're specific resistance wires to control the fan speeds.

Door lock

Your dash switch has gone bad. Normally that is a warranty fix. Good luck!
