My car hard start then dies after few minutes in idle

Sounds like a fuel problem. Dirty fuel. Or a leaking return pipe. Possibly a blocked tank breather

I have a 2000 beetle 1.6 petrol. When it warms up, the exhaust emits lots of blue/grey smoke. It is not losing any water. I have flushed and changed the oil. it needs 2 breather pipes which i will change.

would need a look iam afraid as it sounds like its sucking the oil fumes as it should into the engine but its drawing too much as a filter is missing in or around the breather pipe area ,either that or its just been hammered and now its needs new rings and a valve guides ,without a good look myself i honestly couldnt say

Having what i assume is a fuel system problem. I've replace the fuel filter, fuel pump, sending unit, and fuel relay all with brand new parts, but the car will either not start or die while i'm driving...

Once the car has died, open the fuel cap. If you hear a sound like air being sucked into the tank though the filler pipe, you may have a blocked breather pipe on the tank. Safest bet would be to locate the pipe and remove whatever the restriction is. Easiest would be to drill a 1mm hole as close as possible to the top of the filler pipe, although it is not recommended due to fuel/vapour release.

1991 freelander stalling

on the inlet manifold is a breather from the engine i think on this year so check for a split vacumn hose or a split breather pipe ,failing which it could be the thingy on the back end of the butterfly ,their is a sensor but iam pretty sure its a breather pipe or something stupid ,also pull the vac pipe out of the servo and just try pùtting a plug into pipe in case the servo diaphram has split
