SOURCE: A/C has stopped cooling. Fan still blows. Do I

If the A/C no longer blows cold then I would suspect the system has lost it's refrigerant charge. Being a 1990 it will have the old style (R12) and since the production of that was halted by the EPA, You will need to "retrofit" your system to the new R134a refrigerant. there are numerous steps involved and it takes special equipment so this fix will require a trip to a qualified shop that deals in automotive A/C systems. You don't HAVE to go to the dealer.

Testimonial: "Thanks This info is very helpful. It sounds though to refit the A?C will be very costly. I know the dealer charges are high for the least problem. "

could be fuel pump, check for fuel see if fuel pump supplying fuel and you are getting spark.make sure ignition timing is correct and the idle speed setting correct check the under hood emissions information label.also check engine make sure engine not over heating check cooling fan clutch see if cooling fan clutch is okay by turning it by hand if engine is hot cooling fan should have resistance if engine is hot, if cooling fan feel loose no resistance the fan clutch is bad.

The engine cooling fan will not stop. Battery was dead yesterday, needed new one, put it in, then fan started and would not stop (for hours)had to disconcect the battery. What is wrong?

  1. locate the engine cooling fan relay/disconnect/does fan stop
  2. if so reconnect relay
  3. locate fan switch in radiator or intake manifold
  4. disconnect switch/does fan stop?
  5. if so replace switch
  6. if not replace relay
  7. this solution does not check for electrical wiring problems
  8. such as opens or shorts to ground

Can a cooling fan be fiited to my 50inch philips plasma tv

yes to your ? i asume you have had the back off of this tv...there are 6-7 modules inside. the power supply is where you need to focus some attention. and yes plasma sets do overheat.try to find a way to attach 2 120mm fans to the heatsinks. then try to find a 12 volt source with a volt meter. attach the fans to that source and you are good to go. be carefull not to short or overload the power supply. or you will be spending 3-4 hundo for a new 1... good luck..

I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty. The radiator cooling fan stopped working and the car almost overheated. I replaced the relay with the new style with the cooling pins and the fan now comes on, though...

no but there are a couple of cooling fan switches that could be causing your problem both are mounted on the motor one near the thermostat housing the other will be in the block one near the thermostat usually controls the fans.

Overheating

Sounds like a cooling fan are not turning on. Assuming you have an electric cooling fan. It could be something simple like a fuse or a relay which is stopping the fans from working, or it could be something as bad as the motor burning out on the fan.
