Question about 2002 Saturn L-Series
My service engine light came on after a 90 mile trip to try on my wedding dress. I noticed when I came home, a fan was running a lot harder than usual making a weird "space ship" like noise. I tried resetting the system by undoing the neg end of the battery, but it remained on. I have checked everything I could (I am not a car kinda gal) including unplugging the wire in the front of the hood that gives power to my radiator fan (the one that is working harder than usual) I am not sure what to do or how to fix this problem. Please help, thanks!
First get a scanner to check the code then you will see what happen.Go to auto zone they will check.

Confirm the condition of your battery then check the ignition switch and power distribution box for any loose connections

It is most likely the Throttle Position Sensor has gone bad. But if the check engine light is on, the only way to tell exact problem, is to have a scanner placed on the vehicle to have the codes read.

Check to make sure that one of the pulleys are not sticking on your serpentine belt line, or better known as the belt drive. Such as an alternator that is that seizing up, or a bad power steering pump.

Try cleaning the trottlebody intake and EGR valve. Recheck wire connectors on the sensor you replaced. A great site for Saturn SC1 owners is You Tube. Search for "Richpin". Type "Saturn, Richpin" and you will find a bunch of videos on how to find and repair SC1 problems. He's great.
