Question about Toyota Cars & Trucks

Toyota Tundra Part #: 45859-07010

I have a warranty repair that's gone south. I have an invoice in front of me stating that part number 45859-07010 was replaced, but when I opened up the steering column cover, I found this part to have been repaired with JB Weld Expoxy, or the like. Toyota is giving me the run around and saying there is no proof they did the shoty repair, which caused the same failure to occur again. I need to prove to them that the above mentioned part is in fact the original part that was on the vehicle when it rolled off the assembly line. There is an etched number visible (3T39244) and if I were to remove the part, I know there is another number in the casting which has something to do with the origin of the cast part. Can anyone help?

SOURCE: I need to replace the exhaust manifold on my 2001

Most any auto parts store will have a repair manual that will lead you step by step through the process. However, if you have any mechanical knowledge, and own a set of wrenches and sockets, you can perform this job rather easily and in a few hours. Step one: use a penetrating oil (I recommend PB Blaster but WD-40 will suffice) on the nuts/studs that connect the manifold to the exhaust pipe, allow time for it to do it's magic, then remove said nuts/bolts, making sure not to lose/damage the gasket (if equipped). Step two: disconnect the O2 sensor (if equipped/mounted to manifold) and any EGR pipes that may be attached to it. Step three: remove the mounting bolts, lift out the old manifold. Step four: clean the area where the manifold bolts to the head, install a new gasket, and reverse the process. I hope this has helped, and good luck.

SOURCE: leaking valve seals. I want to know the cost to

Hello
The valve stem seals can be replaced without removing the cylinder head(s) using special tools, so the cost would be be around $600.00 for the V6 engine and about $350.00 for the 4 cylinder engine. Since you don't mention which engine you have I provided both estimates. Keep in mind the parts to do this are the least amount of the cost (about $30), the major cost is labor, labor rates vary wildly from state to state even city to city, so get multiple estimates, Any well trained technican and well equipped repair shop can do this basic repair. If the new seals don't correct the problem which I assume is smoke then the engine has other much more expensive problems like worn piston rings and worn valve stem guides.

When was the last time you balanced and rotated tires,it's recommended to do it every 6000 miles,Sam's club does it for 15 or if you bought tires from there then it's free.Make sure lug nuts are tight.

I recently put new front brake pads and had rotors turned on the front end of my 2003 tundra sr5,after a month of driving i'm getting the pulsation when braking back which is why i made this repai

HI if you have pulsation after a month you must replace the rotors
they are too thin and the heat is warping them faster then before you
had them turned
note you replace brake pads and rotors

Sir I already bought a new TOYOTA TUNDRA from united state of America from camelback Toyota scion 1333 east camelback *phoenix, AZ 85014 (www.camelbacktoyota.com) and shipped it to STATE OF QATAR. VIN...

I'm afraid that the warranties provided by Toyota in the U.S. for the 36 month period are limited only to the U.S. according to their website and that the warranty honored depends on the local Toyota dealer.

So, if the local Qatar dealer is saying this, then it probably is something that falls under local policy.

I haven't any reason to disbelieve the Qatar agent when he or she says that that any car purchased outside of the Qatar will not be under warranty. GMC is not the same as Toyota, I guess.

The Toyota Tundra is an excellent vehicle, and I'm sure that if you do the regular service on it then it will last a long time. However, there's the issue of whether it's under warranty in case anything goes wrong with it.

I guess it's one of those things that one might encounter in international business with warranties and such.

I never thought about that issue as being an issue, but apparently that's what they told you.

COVERAGES Every Toyota Car, Truck and SUV is built to exceptional standards. And that's not idle boasting. We back it up with these Limited Warranty Coverages: Basic 36 months/36,000 miles (whichever comes first) (all components other than normal wear and maintenance items). Powertrain 60 months/60,000 miles (whichever comes first) (engine, transmission/transaxle, front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, seatbelts and airbags). Rust-Through 60 months/unlimited miles (corrosion perforation of sheet metal). Emissions Coverages vary under Federal and California regulations. Refer to applicable Owner's Warranty Information booklet for details. Accessories For accessories purchased at time of the new vehicle purchase, the Toyota Accessory Warranty coverage is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the vehicle's in-service date, which is the same coverage as the Basic coverage of the Toyota New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

For dealer-installed accessories purchased after the new vehicle purchase, the coverage is 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the date the accessory was installed on the vehicle, or the remainder of the above 36 months or 36,000 miles Basic coverage from the vehicle's in-service date, whichever provides greater coverage, with the exception of car covers. Car covers are warranted for 12 months from the date of purchase and do not assume any coverage under the Toyota New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

For customer (non-dealer)-installed accessories purchased after the new vehicle purchase, the coverage is 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), from the purchase date of the accessory.

You may be eligible for transportation assistance if it's necessary that your vehicle be kept overnight for repairs covered under warranty. Please see your authorized Toyota dealership for further details. Hybrid-Related Component Coverage Hybrid-related components for hybrid vehicles are covered for 8 years/100,000 miles. The HV battery may have longer coverage under emissions warranty. Refer to applicable Owner's Warranty Information booklet for details. For complete details about Toyota's warranties, please refer to the applicable Owner's Warranty Information booklet or see your Toyota dealer. ---
The above warranties are just 'limited' warranties which may not be honored internationally, especially when the dealer in Qatar tells you that they will not honor it.

The end of the above tells you to see your Toyota dealer and that's what you did. Maybe you could argue your case with a district or regional manager, but I think that it probably will be difficult to find free service in your country.

That means that you will have to pay for any service that your vehicle requires, rather than getting it free or covered under the 'limited' warranty.

I wish you luck, however, in obtaining warranty service for your Toyota vehicle, over there.
