Head light adjustment 2004 optima
This is how to adjust 04 Optima headlights:
For all descriptions, assume that you are standing BEHIND the light assembly.
On the back of the headlight assembly you will see the bulb cover
(round cover with tabs) stamped "OPEN" and an arrow showing which
direction to turn to remove. Look toward the 8 o'clock position for
driver lamp, 4 o'clock for passenger lamp of this cap. Partially
obscured by the sheet metal you will see a black screw 3/4 exposed on
the headlight assembly. It is at the edge of the sheet metal and very
difficult to see, but it,s there. You may need to remove the assembly
to get a better look. If needed, see below for lamp assembly removal.
How to remove the headlight: There are two 10mm bolts holding the assembly in place. One is above
the headlight and the other one is between the headlight and the
high beam light. Unplug the two harnesses that hook into the
headlight, if needed, and it is ready to be removed the car. Gently work it out of position.
Take a Phillips screwdriver
and turn the black screw - it adjusts the light vertically. Turn it
counter-clockwise to make the light go up and clockwise to adjust
down. Its as easy once you find the screw.
