SOURCE: Road noise from right front

FRONT WHEEL BEARING HUB. I HAVE REPLACED THREE. TWO FRONT AND 1 REAR.
THEY WILL HUMM AND WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED JUST RIGHT IT MIGHT STOP.

MY AZTEC WAS MANUFACTURED IN CANADA, THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THOSE FROM MEXICO.

SOURCE: 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier front End Roar

You must replace wheel bearings in pairs to avoid loading the old bearing and, in time ruining your new bearing hub it is possible that you have already damaged the new hub

SOURCE: 04 cavalier makes grinding noise in front end

3 things to check:
Worn disc brake pads, grinding against the rotor.
Wheel bearing
cv joint.
You posted grinding gets worse turning to the right, the problem is the driver side wheel, but it would be best to have both wheeles checked.

SOURCE: My truck makes a grinding noise when turning to

Hi

You need to jack up that wheel and spin it by hand, if you hear the similar noise it is most likely a noisy wheel bearing. Also if you have revently driven over loose metal road could be stone lodged in disc assembly. Could also be the wear indicators on the disc pads "telling you" that the pads are nearly worn out.

Hope this helps cbacer

Hi, my roger black cross trainer has developed a really loud squeak. I have put grease on the visible parts on the arm and foot joints to no joy. Any ideas?

You need to isolate the noise by listening with a stethoscope, a sonoscope or something similar to discover which is the noisy joint (are you sure it is the machine and not one of your joints?).

If a joint has no running clearance there will be no room for grease or oil and the joint might have to be dismantled and eased before lubricant will have a chance to work. This isn't unusual where metal and plastic meet as although durable, plastic isn't the most stable of materials.

I have a 1998 town and country van it makes a loud crunching/grinding noise only when in reverse we have no clue what it is but I'm scared to put my kids in it

sounds like the reverse may be faulty, have it seen to as soon as possible. It may be not too serious, if left something worse might develop. Actually it is almost certain to get worse

Incidentally ...does the noise come from the front, which indicates a transmission problem or from the rear

Had this problem of grinding/crunching/clicking left front. The front 4 x 4 didn't work. The front left axle had to be replaced.

Good indication of a bad starter. Is it just clicking or is it a grinding ugly noise?. The second is definately the starter.

I accelerate my 2000 neon, and it vibrates and get grinding noise

Check the front drive axles and boots. A bad cv (constant velocity) joint can cause this.
