Question about 1985 Chevrolet Citation
I need to remove the driver side mirror to get at the trim underneath. I do not need to disconnect the control cable, but need free play to get the trim off. I have removed 4 screws, which has loosened it, but it appears there is something else holding it on there. Any ideas?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Removal of door panel
remove the screw in the cluster( door handle, mirror, locks) careful though some of the screws are just "dummies" youll know it is if it starts stripping out. remove the big handle ( should be about two or three big screws under it and on the side where it mounts). when you do that you should be able to pull things a little better. the tricky part is getting the lock rod out of the manual lock part.but once you get it out, the door panel pops right off.

Did you connect the lines? and did you break loose the tar that holds itto the car and seals the holes for the pipe? You maya have to remove the outter core cover to getto the last screws to get it out.

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

ok on the inside of the door at the corner where the mirror is you will see a black plastic cover. take a flat head screwdriver and slide beetween the cover and the door and pry on it. you will hear it snap but it is just the retaining clips coming out dont worry you can reuse them. once off you will see three nuts remove those nuts i think they are 10mm and the mirror will come right off. if its power there will be a wiring plug that you will have to un-couple but its pretty self explanitory after that
