Question about Cars & Trucks
Car has been great then engine light came on. It went away then I was by autozone so I stopped in. They came up with that code p2172. They looked it up and they couldn't find it. Another guy then said it was a tps problem which is something to do with throttle. Anybody have anything close?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: throttle position sensor
did your car have (ETS) electronic throttle control system
the TPSis a part of this system
but you can test it by using diagnoses scan tool to check the TPS value when press or depress the accelerator pad.
so you can tell us the NO. of DTC for example(P0122)

no need to replace the throttle body , and i think that you make a test before to buy any piece . disconnect the negative battery terminal few minutes, then connnect and start engine again, drive few minutes by observing the engine, if light comes again, replace only map sensor ,good luckl
