SOURCE: Heat blows cold when car is idling

You have an air pocket in the cooling system. To bled it out you will have to park vehicle on an incline or jack up the front end untill the radiator cap is higher than the heater core. The remove radiator cap and run engine until warm then hold rpm to about 1200 rpm's and top off coolant level until you have no more bubbles.

How do you bleed the rear brakes on a 1996 mercury cougar with a 4.6 engine, 4 wheel disk brakes and abs. the brake pedal is spongy and goes almost to the floor.

you may have to start the engine and or roll it a little bit (as in move the car) between bleeding sa the pressure drops too far to effectively bleed them.. don't forget to be sure you have plenty of fluid in the reserve prior to start..
Best regards

96 Cougar routing amp power cable through firewall.

if you look at the firewall area you usually can see rubber or plastic black plugs to run wiring to the passenger compartment; look by the left side kick panel on the floor next to your brake pedal; good area to drill if you have to ; make sure you insulate any cable or power supply going through the firewall so the wire is protected from rubbing or vibration

i would need more info but it sounds like your trans shifter cable is out of adjustment ; you need to carefully with the brake on and the car idling; move your trans shifter cable to all positions to check for forward and reverse.
Make sure car is chalked or raised of the ground ,
