Well I'm currently working for the next 10 hrs but just realized this may work. Put your cables back on battery open your doors sit inside and relock your doors. Then your alarm will sound and then get out of car relock the doors and close it. Then stick your key in the door and unlock the door that should work to get it to stop going off and you should be able to drive it. Tomorrow I will look for my notes on bypassing it. Pull the relay for your headlights and horn so it will be quiet, get your alarm to go off again and listen for the relay opening and closing and find the box. when you find the box start the car and unplug the harness. Remeber car has to running to do this. Make sure after you unplug to turn car off and on a bunch of time to make sure its good. My buddy told me this is the street way of bypaasing your alarm. Good luck.. just remeber to put relays back for horn and headlights.

Not sure if this will work but it did for me. My battery died on my old 01 stratus rt and when I put new battery in my alarm kept going off. So I disconnected battery, both cables and touched them together and reattached them and it worked. I would try that. I will look into bypassing it as I did this when I installed a new alarm system with remote start I just don't have my book in front of me.

  • here is how you totally disable anti-theft...check the resistance of your ignition key,(peg or chip in the key) then purchase a resistor from radio shack of the closest value to your reading, locate the connector under dash coming down threw the steering column that has two fine gauge wires (should be independant from the main switch harness. disconnect the clip and jump the end coming from the computer with the resistor..ta more security light or anti theft problems!ecm thinks correct key,and condition from then on.

When your door is open look on the interior trim next to the drivers seat and passengers side also. There is a button that pops out when you open the door just like on a refrigerator, and this activates the alarm. Simply remove the screws, pull the module out, disconnect and enjoy the silence. This is a simple way to deactivate your alarm and can be reconnected if you want to when your ready.

either you assumption is correct, could need a new key, or the ignition has went bad, try the key first if it does not solve it, replace the ignition.

How to disable anti theft system on 04 dodge stratus special edition

Want to bypass your vehicle security system? The short answer is you can't!

All modern cars have alarms and immobilizers. There is a chip in the key and a chip in the ignition lock. If both are present, the ECM (engine control module) releases power to the ignition circuit. When you turn the key, the starter spins the engine and you get a spark. If any one of those three items are not in the chain, you get the engine to turn, but no spark. There is no way to beat the system.

The immobilizer is in place to stop exactly what you are trying to do.

Is there an anti-lock switch on my 2005 dodge stratus

Sorry Debi , It does not work like that ! If the engine computer doesn't receive a signal from the anti-theft system , it wont let the car start . Could disable fuel , ignition , an sometimes it wont let the car crank over , There are bypass kits you can by , need to google it for your car. Other wise you'll lock up the system an it won't work .

How do i bypass the anti theft system in a 2002 Stratus

Unfortunately if you are referring to the factory anti-theft system - it will have to have computers replaced. Once the Engine Computer sees a Theft Alarm request it will remain there forever and it will shut down the fuel system until seeing an OK To Start from the Theft Alarm.
If it is after market alarm - find it and disconnect wiring - restore connections to original
does that help?
If you are having trouble with the system? Make sure the battery is good and fully charged. There are entry switches on the back side of the lock cylinders on both front doors (probably knocked off when the door is "Slim Jim'd") and the trunk lock.
If your battery is dead and you try to jump it - you will have to turn off the alarm again after hooking up the jumper

My 2006 dodge stratus wont start

If the engine will not crank over with the starter then have the battery and starter tested first and then go from there. If the theft system is the problem you will have a warning light on in the dash or a message on alerting you to the problem in the anti theft system.

I have a 2003 dodge stratus and all the lights work but the car wont crank over. I BANGED ON THE STARTER ALSO JUST NO CTANK

Check fuses, look at engine compartment fuse box, finda ASD relay swap it with horn relay. Try starting in neutral with foot on brake pedal(neutral saftey switch maybe bad). Check power at starter big wire(Need 12v+) check small wire while someone cranks car for you, you need a 12v+ while cranking, then it will go dead while not cranking. Cycle key-fob lock unlock, manually lock unlock driver's door(anti-theft problem). Check for faulty after market alarm system. (disabling starter).
