SOURCE: 2007 gmc sierra 2500 IAT sensor

Well, the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor is located on the air intake duct between the filter and the throttle body (Assuming you have the 6L motor). The wires are easily visible at the plug that connects the sensor to the wiring harness. That's the easiest place to access them.

SOURCE: 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 tailgate will not lock shut.

Check to see if the mechanizm is siezed behind the handle that lifts up. this is quite common , also check the latches at the ends of the tailgate to see if they are not stuck in the unlatched position ,If they are retracted and won't come back out this confirms a sticky or siezed Mechanism.. WD 40 or someting simular to free up everything works well. good luck

SOURCE: 2004 gmc 1500 sierra heater control stuck on

Defrost is the default position. Is the control a autyomatic temperture control unit? ( you set the temp and select automatic) if it is the system is completely electronic. You push the buttons and the control still says defrost or can you select something else and the control shows it but it just keeps coming out the defrost? If the control changes and the air comes out the defrost anyway and the cheack engine light isn't on, then the problem can be blown fuses or an air door actoater not working. Does the dash emit a clicking sound? if it does with the covers off the bottom of the dash reach around touching the different pieces till you touch the idem that is clicking. this is an acutor motor, or blend door motor. they have gears in them that wear out and break the motors aren't repairable and you just replace the ofending motor. the door that is moves can be stuck. and may have to be freed up with blaster, WD40, or other rust buster till it moves easy. maybe after getting the door to move smoothly you can get the old motor to move the door wiithout having to install a new one.

SOURCE: 97 Passat left front door won't open from outside

The outside door handles on 95-97 Passats have a known problem. As they age, the pivot pin for the actuaring lever slides out of one of the support posts. This changes the geometry of the lever system so pulling on the handle does not open the door. The locking mechanism will work fine as will the interior door handle. The only cure is to replace the outside door handle.I have to replace my 95 Passat's Left front door handle about every 2 years due to this problem. Do not replace with a used handle as the problem will reoccur sooner. Replacement is easy; Remove the inner panel, carefully peel back the vapor barrior from the door by the outside door handle. Unplug the wire to the door hande and remove the Phillips head screw on the edge of the door that attaches the handle to the door. Slide the door handle toward the front of the door and gently pull it off. Reverse the process to replace it. Ensure the door handle wires are not pinched by the window mechanism and replace the inner door panel.

Remove the inner door panle by removing the door lock knob along with the screws around the front and back edge of the door panel. Remove the plasic cover on the armrest/door pull and carefully remove the wires from the outside mirror adjustment switch. Remove the 2 screws from under the armrest/door pull and pull the top of panel away from the door. Once the top of the panel is about 8 inches from the door it will lift out of the clips on the bottm of the door. Revese process to reinstall. Carefully glue the plastic vapor barrior in place before you replace the door panel.

You will need to pull the door card/panel off and check that the lock release rod from the lock cylinder to the door latch is attached.

Is there a security alarm on my 2000 gmc sierra

Easiest way to tell; get in the vehicle and DO NOT put the keys in the ignition. Use the automatic lock button to lock the vehicle and open the door. If the alarm sounds, then you have your answer. If it does not, most likely, no.

How do i get key for thet ignitin

I had this same problem with a wreck that I restored. You will have to take the door panel off. I chose the drivers door. You will have to remove the arm rest. You may need a clip tool to remove the window crank. Also remove the door opening lever and the door lock button if it is in the way. After removing the door panel peel off a paper type covering if there is one. There may be a panel held on by screws. Once you have access to the inside of the door, remove a clip holding a rod the to the key lock mechanism and then remove a clip holding the key lock mechanism. Once you have removed the key lock mechanism, take it to a GM dealer and they will be able to make a key for your car using the number imprinted on the side of the mechanism. I don't know if a locksmith can do this but you can take it to them and try if you like. I can't promise you that this will work for you but it did for me. If you need a separate key for the trunk you can remove the key lock mechanism from the trunk and it should have a number on it also. Good luck !

I changed batteries in my 2003 GMC Sierra key fob

1. Close all doors
2. Insert key into ignition
3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver's door panel, continue to hold down
until instructed to release in step 9.

4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in a fairly rapid succession.
5. Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine.)
6. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
7. Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine.)
8. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
9. Release the power UNLOCK button on the door panel. The vehicle should respond by
door locks locking and unlocking automatically. (If locks do not cycle after you let go,
not before you let go of the unlock button, then the vehicle has not entered programming
mode and you must start procedure over. Remove key from ignition, open drivers door
and return to step 1 ). If the locks do cycle automatically then proceed to step 10.

10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote until the doors lock and
unlock. This may take up to 30 seconds.

11. Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional remote. (Including any existing remotes).
12. Turn the ignition to the ON position to exit the programming mode.
13. Test remote(s).

2000 GMC Sierra passenger door won't lock

The Actuator is not functioning anymore, check to see if there is a fuse for it first. If that is ok then remove the actuator and test it outside using some wire and your car battery to see if actually moves or doesent this will tell you if you need a replacement.
