SOURCE: Car shuts down while driving

It is very likely the part that is giving you the problem is a Crankshaft Position Sensor, they go open circuit when they get hot, then after it cools it becomes a good circuit again, this is very frustrating, had the same issue with my Buick a few years ago, replaced the coils and the ignition module at a cost of hundreds, DID NOT CHANGE A THING, the crank sensor fixed the problem and was $30.00 from Buick.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi Carisma 1997

its a very common fault with the GDi engine, normally first shows a fault after 60k miles. Fault will also make the engine feel slightly juddery on occasions whilst cruising... either/both Accelerator body or Cam sensor are the usual culprit. Both can be rather expensive.

SOURCE: starts with boost then car dies after 1 km and won't start

once the car is started it runs off the alternator .. so even if your battery is bad the alternator will still run the car .. so it looks lilke your alternator is bad .. when you jumped the car you charged the battery a little but not enough to keep it going since the alternator is not charging . if you hook up a charger overnight then you might be able to run it long enough to get somewhere (garage) .. try to drive when you dont need lights .. those will run down the battery in a short time .. if you have a volt meter then the battery should read about 13.8 to 14.2 volts when the alternator is working properly (car running) .. if it reads lower (like 12volts or less) then the alternator is not charging .. some auto parts stores will test your system free ..

I have a magna 1997 when it is hot and i turn it off it will not start again a

That is a TE magna 3rd gen either a 3 .3,5 ltr motor .. . I take it it will crank over ok so either fuel or spark
Is this an Auto , triptronic or manual box ?..is it running on gas ? .These no starting problems require a scanner to sort out if intermittent or unresolved ... . for now try these basic things .
For Fuel .check if the fuel filter has been changed and the fuel pump is working when hot There is a pressure regulator on the fuel rail . injectors cleaned ? For Spark -dissy. coil ..exciter. leads .plugs any of these can fail when hot .. I am in several Magna forums so should be able to sort this

I got check lite in my mitsubhishi magna exec. n sometimes it never goes off ... even the spark is there , all fuses are ok battery is ok fuel pump is new but still not get off some time whats the sol

Hi Josh, The engine check light can come on for a number of different reasons and will not always mean the vehicle comes to a stand still immediately. My advise is tohave a scan carried out to find out why it has come on, and then have it attended to before you're forced to take the long walk home. Regards John

1997 Mitsubishi TF wagon starting problems

hi ...problem could be automatic transmission start isolater switch linked to gear selector(designed /adjusted not to start in gear),or ignition switch worn..creating electrical resistance and becomes overhot loosing power contact, due to burnt switching faces......so if it happens again,.. handbrake on ! ! and try moving gear selector whilst attempting to start...if this remedies starting ,...it may be isolater switch..if not,... it will most likely be ignition electrical switch at fault...hope this helps
