SOURCE: 2002 chrysler town and country wont leave limp mode

try getting a new shift solenoid for it. i had the same problem on my 2002 chrysler town and country and my plymouth breeze which is also a dodge product. it is very simple to do and doesnt take all that long. the part will probably run you about 150 to 200 dollars but it should fix your problem.

SOURCE: limp mode?

It may have a "loss of prime" code that usually follows a service of the fluid and filter. After you're sure the fluid is full at operating temperature, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect to see if the code resets. I hope this helps.

Wont shift out of 2nd

This is limp-in mode, a feature of electronically shifted transmissions. For a large variety of potential problems, the computer that runs the shifting has seen an issue that puts the trans in limp-in mode, it wont let it shift.

You may have a check engine light on, start by pulling codes and expect to need access to a scan tool that reads not just engine codes but also power-train codes. It gets quite advanced very quick.

However it does not always have to be complex or expensive. If the electrical connector came off the trans, the trans would always be in 2nd, or if you have a fuse blown, it may happen as well, so check your fuses. Aside from that, you will likely be going to a mechanic even if just to evaluate the code(s), and to see what complaint the powertrain module has. It does not necessarily indicate a major problem.

Oh and don't forget to verify proper transmission fluid level.

Good Luck!

2002 chrysler 300m limp mode

you need to be sure that auto trans fluid is in good shape and you need to be sure that it is not missing even little amounts. replace the filter too.

then you need dealer to reset transmission computer for you. if it still happens

if these wont cure you must be sure that selenoids inside transmission are in specs(check on factory service manual for resistance values of each coil).

and be sure that there are no loose electrical connections on transmissions especially a loose ground.

if it shift correctly there may not be a need of overhauling

did you have pinion factor and quick learn performed on the trans module after replacement? if not then the trans won't shift correctly. also is the check engine light on with any engine codes in memory? the engine module may the trans stuck in limp-in mode(2nd gear).

2006 Chrysler 300 wont go over 35 mph. Also will not shift into lower Drive gears

It is in limp mode. Have the transmission computer scanned for codes. It likely has a bad speed sensor. If it has a code in the trans computer, the computer will lock the transmission is second gear.

96 chrysler town country wont shift into third gear

If it starts out in 2nd gear & dosn't shift, it is probably in a limp in mode. the system will need to be diagnosed & computer satisfied. sometimes disconnecting the battery will reset the computer & allow the trans to shift untill it sees the problem again. I recomend getting the codes read first so the memory will not be erased.

Transmission will shift properly and then it wont shift it stays on first i have disconnet and connect battery cables for it to shift

Sounds like you have a transmission problem.
The reason it's stuck in 1st or 2nd is the computer goes into "limp home mode" allowing you to get the vehicle to a service center to get it repaired.
By disconnecting the battery you reset the computer and your transmission works until it senses the problem again and goes into limp home mode again
Get your trans serviced

Transmission not shifting out of first gear.

I googled your codes didn't get much info. I'd try to check with dealer. They may say $100. to diagnose.

NO GAUGES & WON'T SHIFT TRANSMISSION

I would have the high and low shift sensors replaced first. If it continues to not shift it is staying in limp mode and you need to take it to trans shop to have diagnostic
