Diesel engine diagnostics

Looks like could be caused by one of several sensors.
I did find thisP04D9 EGR feedback saturation This OBD monitor indicates if the burned air fraction error is saturated against a high or low limit. The logic for the monitor evaluates the time spent at saturation and compares the ratio between the time spent in a saturation mode and the total time engine running. A fault is reported whenever the ratio exceeds the fault limit.
P04D9 EGR system: Feedback control(Saturated Low)
Enable conditions: Engine torque 300 - 2500NM,Exhaust Mass Flow 0.1 kg/s, Ambient Air Temperature-8 -55C, Barometric Pressure 75 - 105 kpa, Coolant Temperature>65 C
Disable Conditions No active DTCs P0069 P046c P0234, P0299, P0401, and P0402
Some possible causes
P0069 Intake manifold pressure sensor evaluation
P046c EGR differential pressure sensor: DP Sensor rationality
P0234 Comparison of actual boost pressure, Overboost, to modeled boost pressure
P0299 Boost Pressure: Underboost, Comparison of actual boost pressure to modeled boost pressure
P0401 EGR system (low flow)compare demanded egr flow to actual
P0402 EGR System (High Flow)compare demanded egr flow to actual

sure , read the FSM.
go to Ford, , parts counter and buy the Factory service manual.
on my car 08 , its on CD and is 7000 pages. long.
make sure its covers the Diesel option.
some (many) makers of cars, alternate engine options have
SUPPLEMENTS. ask em'
what country are you in, or where was car sold to.

diagnosing any engine.
step 1 is engine
and step 2 is blown fuses.
and step 3 is read the TSBs on your car. (tech .serv. bul)

you are going to have to plug in a diagnostic reader and find out what the problem is or to shut off the light . You could also drive it for 300KM and it should reset itself

Are you traveling high ground like Rocky Mountain?

I will remove the ground cable for 4 minutes to reset all data in ECU.///clock and radio stations too : (

Let the ECU to relearn the local environment parameter.



Here's so info on how to prevent vapor lock

Ride with full tank of gas but NO TOP OFF.

Crack open gas cap carefully during rest stops to release / equalize gas tank pressure'

Pick up a copy of Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual, Part # 10330, at your local auto parts store. It has an excellent diagnostic section, check page 1-44. It's a must have for a diyer with a diesel motor. It costs about $20.

Yep coded. someone with a ford diagnostic machine or equivlent should ne able to do it though, not a tough job if you know what your doing.
