I've been having troubles with my car to start it will start after setting all night but after running for a bit and shutting it off it wont start but will crank. battery was tested and I also removed positive terminal on battery while it was running and it didn't stop running so not my battery or my alternator I also ran it about 70 miles stopped at a gas station to grab a drink left it running put it in reverse and then in drive hit the gas and it stalled on me couldn't get it started till next day even after trying to jump it.

Wow! thats verry low miles for an 88. Check the fuel pressure at the injector. If the pressure is low the filter could be clogged or the pump is not putting out enough pressure. Replace both if the pressure is not up to par. also check the fuel relays.

Checkk the EGR system for the EGR valve should open when the engine gets to operating temperature. If not the engine will stall out

I would look for spark, you may have an ignition problem. it would be a sensor that goes into your distributor, the plug should be a round one with i believe 4 wires.

Hello! I need the trouble code...The vehicle is an On Board Diagnostic 1 (OBD!)...You can not use a scanner on an OBD1...See drawing below of connector under the steering wheel...Short pins A to B...Turn on the key...Don't start the engine...Light on dash will flash the code ie...4 long blinks...pause... 1 short blink=code 41...each code, if more tan one, will flash 3 times...record the code # and send it to me and I'll fix the problem....codes are all two digit... guru...saailer
