Lighting fault, lighting system quit working

I have checked all fuses and grounds that I can find. Separate lighting systems have been failing seemingly at random. I have tried disconnecting the battery and rebooting the entire system. No luck

Car starts and runs fine, just no exterior lights whatsoever. "Lighting Fault" message displayed in the Driver Information Center

I have a 2001 ford expedition that I just recently had to replace engine And some other electrical issues needed to be fixed! The problem that I am having now is the abs light staying on...and while the...

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Anti-lock brake system. TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module. TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor System

I drive a 93 GMC Sonoma p/u. I drove out of town and noticed that the radio was not working. Next the service engine soon idiot light lit up. Once on the highway, the spedometer was not working. Hmmmm

It is possible that there may be a battery/charging system problem (in which case, the next step will be that the engine will not run). Then again, you may have separate problems. The radio not working and the Check Engine light turning on might not be related at all. However, a failed Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) or open/shorted VSS circuit would make the speedometer quit working AND cause the Check Engine light to come on.

Proper diagnosis is the only way to find out for sure.

I would BEGIN by performing a thorough battery/charging system test. Then you need to scan your onboard computer to find out WHY it has turned the Check Engine light on. This should be done BEFORE the battery cables are disconnected for any kind of charging system or battery repair. Once the cables are disconnected, the computer memory will be lost and you will not get any codes to tell you why the computer has turned the light on. You MAY have a charging system-related code like "Voltage Low At Module" or you MAY have a totally different code like "VSS Circuit Open or Shorted". You need to find this out before making ANY repairs.
However, if the charging system tests faulty and/or you have any charging system fault codes, ALL fault codes should be recorded and the battery/charging system problem needs to be dealt with FIRST. (you cannot trust what the computer is telling you if there are charging system faults.) If after this, any symptoms persist, diagnosis of any other fault codes retrieved should be performed.

If all engine control problems are resolved and your radio still does not work, you need to diagnose your radio circuits as a separate problem.

Do yourself a favor an take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop ! Replacing parts without doing the electrical testing is no way to fix anything . Checking B+ voltage with a DMM - digital multimeter is ! Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html . Do you know what a automotive electrical diagram is ?
Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine size . Under system click on lighting then under subsystem click headlamps . Click on the search button ,then on the blue link. Circuit breakers hardly ever fail . Probably the switch or dimmer switch or a bad ground .

Srs light wont go off

tHIS LIGHT IS ON TO ALERT YOU TO THE FACT THAT A FAULT HAS OCCURED IN THE AIRBAG SYSTEM AND THE AIRBAG DIAGNOSTIC MONITOR HAS DISABLED THE SYSTEM, THE LIGHT WILL REAMAIN ON UNTIL THE FAULT IS REPAIRED, SO RIGHT NOW YOU HAVE NO SRS, THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM IS THE FOLLOWING.
When the airbag light is on it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called th clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the wheel
