Remove the distributor cap and check for corrosion on the points or carbon tracking lines inside the cap...most likely needs a full tune up being plugs, wires, cap and rotor

SOURCE: Broken spring on the gas fuel tank door on Toyota ''Camry'' 1998

Go to your nearest Toyota dealer. Purchase this part number: 77360-22020; approx 4 dollars.

Open the fuel door. Being careful, remove the leftover plastic that is hooked by the door hinge. Insert the new spring assembly under the slot, and press it in until it clicks into place. Very easy to do.
Hope this helps, and thanks for choosing FixYa.

SOURCE: 95 toyota camry died and turns over but wont crank

same thing happened to my sons' Aries. we replaced timing belt and everything worked great> to confirm broken timing belt, remove valve cover >crank engine over and watch valve train, no movement= broken belt. you can check tech manual but as previously stated if this is not an interferance engine, cranking engine won't run a piston into an open valve. good luck.

SOURCE: 1999 Toyota Camry fuel injectors are not opening.

Check for electric pulses to the injectors.

You can either buy a plug in checker for the injectors OR take a single led and bend the leads to fit into an injector plug and crank the motor and look to see if the led lights up. No lights? You have an issue with the crank signal or the ecu. Run a test of the ecu with an obd 2 scanner and see if you have any codes.

Your fuel pump may be working...bit if it isn't making enough pressure it won't matter....might as well check the fuel line pressure too.

Good luck and be careful!

Hi Dress, Have a diagnostic inspection carried out and at the same time ask for a new fuel filter to be fitted. After that has been done ask for a fuel pressure test to be carried out on the fuel pump. It should be 3.4 bar and if its lower it requires replacement. Regards John

We replaced fuel pump in 1998 camry and it still wont start power is running to and from injectors and pump.

unhook the fuel line to the filter and check if gas is coming through....i just recently had to replace the fuel pump in a costomers car 4times because the other ones i was gettin were bad and yes i was buying them brand new...and if your not getting gas take the fuel pump back out and check the fire to the wire that connects to the fuel pump on the inside because they r lead wires and break very easy...

Won't start

Is this a 4 cyl. or a 6 ?
It's possable the EGR valve is stuck wide open also causing it to dump fuel. Are the plugs wet after cranking for a while?
Talk to ya soon, Dan
