If its not an abnormal amount of smoke its fine, its probably just getting old. If its a lot of smoke, ur radiator could be leeking into ur oil wich would cause smoke. To check this, turn ur car on on flat ground for about 2min, then turn the car off, pull out the oil stick, whipe it, put it back in, take it back out just like ur checking ur oil amd if ur seeing neon colors on the stick (usually red or green) then thats it. Theres is many ither things it could be, but thats the most common....IF ITS AN ABNORMAL AMOUNT OF GAS

I bought my 1997 honda civic lxi last 2 weeks ago, while driving, its temperature getting higher, sometimes the idle is not normal (fluctuating), theres so much white smoke in the muffler when...

Possible head gasket put in wrong or possible. make sure radiator cooling fan is coming on. The smoke could be remaining from the water standing in the exhaust if it is fixed it will take a while for that to burn off. Check the timing on the timing belt. change your thermostat. Have your radiator checked for flow. If it is plugged replace it. Intake could be leaking to cause the fluctuating idle. The throttle body can cause the idle to search. Also the timing off can do that.If possible do a combustion leak test in the coolant

Last time I drove the truck, it was very shaky when idling at stop lights. Now, when I start the engine, light grey smoke shoots out of the muffler and it keeps coming out until I turn off the engine. I'm...

If this light grey smoke comes out when you start the engine, then when you drive for a while vanishes, means you have Oil leakage trough valves O-Rings! you can't do it your self... you should take it to a shop. Usuall this happens when you park for longer than 2 - 3 hours, then start engine (depending on how sever is the case).
If smoke keeps coming out all the time, means your engine needs an overwhole in a good shop

Yesterday, there was smoking coming from under the hood. There is an atnifreeze leak there but today, it wasnt smoking. Is it safe to be driving?

More than likely the antifreeze was leaking onto the hot exhaust manifold and/or muffler pipe. Since the car isn't hot anymore, its not smoking. Driving is not a big hazzard unless the steam prevents you from seeing or if you run the antifreeze too low, which will overheat your engine. I would fix the leak ASAP...

When i put in drive it starts to shake like it wants to turn off and it wont run and black smoke comes out the muffler

You may want to check on the idling of the car. See if adjusting it on the idle control valve or cleaning it would help. Normally this would be the case in any gear, Drive or Reverse. If it is only on drive check on the tranny and the gear valve if it needs cleaning. Or it may be as simple as having the oil of the transmission changed.
