SOURCE: I have the same problem with my Daewoo Lanos

The transponder key has a chip in it.That is a programmed chip. But if this transponder key is not working then ,you will have to get the another transponder key,the other option is you can get the another key made from the local lock smith and then get the key programmed from the lock smith or from the dealer. Some lock smiths have the key programming device but if there is no lock smith in your area then you will have to get the key programmed with your dealer. Also you can try your preset key getting it re-programmed and check if it supports. ----------------- The exact procedure in which the transponder key works is as follows:---- Transponder key

Transponder keys may also be called "chip keys". Transponder keys are automotive ignition keys with signal-emitting circuits built inside. When the key is turned in the ignition cylinder, the car's computer transmits a radio signal to the transponder circuit. The circuit has no battery; it is energized by the radio signal itself. The circuit typically has a computer chip that is programmed to respond by sending a coded signal back to the car's computer. If the circuit does not respond or if the code is incorrect, the engine will not start. Many cars immobilize if the wrong key is used by intruders. Chip Keys successfully protect cars from theft in two ways: forcing the ignition cylinder won't start the car, and the keys are difficult to duplicate. This is why chip keys are popular in modern cars and help decrease car theft. Many people who have transponder keys are not aware of the fact because the circuit is hidden inside the plastic head of the key. THIS IS JUST FOR ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE ((((((On the other hand, General Motors produced what are known as VATS keys (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) during the 1990s, which are often erroneously believed to be transponders but actually use a simple resistor, which is visible in the blade of the key. If the value of the resistor is wrong, or the key is a normal key without a resistor, the circuit of the car's electrical system will not allow the engine to be started.)))))))))))))).

------------

This means that the programming of the Transponder Key has been corrupted or the Programming data of the Key in ECU ( Electric Control Unit ) has been lost or not responding. You now have to get a new Transponder Key. You can get it on E-bay for $30. After you receive it, reprogram the car to the New Transponder Key to the ECU By the lock smith or from the dealer.

---------------

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

Overheating

There may be air trapped in the cooling system. If no air bleed on the thermostat housing, or right beside it, start engine at cold, remove radiator cap, and let it idle until warmed up and the thermostat opens fully. When at operating temperature, shut off the car, check coolant level, and put the cap back on. See if that removes any trapped air.

Sounds like the electrical part of the ignition switch, not the lock cylinder that needs replacing.
Possible also that cutting that wire to the security module immobilized it.

How do I remove an aftermarket Engine Immobiliser that looks like a stereo plug that i've almost lost twice and my brother thinks it's hooked up to the fuel system I don't want the stress of almost lo

Most immobilisers on the year car 1993 and some newwer one are connected to starter wiring under the dash, and what it does is it cuts the power wire from the ignition switch in half and sends it through the module and to relay, you will need to follow the wires and you will see the wires coming down from the ignition switch, one will be cut in two and go into immobil wiring you will dissconnect them and reconnect them back together, the wire is color coded so theres no mixing wires and then the rest of the wiring will be to power and ground and so on, all these other wires can be removed or left there. once you connect the main stating wire thats the main wire, a quick thing to see if this is the way it works is to try and start the car without the chip and see if when you turn the key the engine should not try to start, it should do nothing just dash lights light up but no engine spin, if this is what happens then this is the way to dissable it. good day.

HI youtube12 - IT sounds like your starter deed not disengage from the flywheel and
by you driving it caused the starter over heat and short out .
You need to have the electrical sys checked out before replacing starter. OK
