SOURCE: replaced blown head gasket on 1993 toyota mr2.put

I think you should check your timing again, check the firing order of the distributor and if they are with there corresponding spark plug. Did you mark the connector or label them before disassembling. Maybe u left the timing in exhaust instead of compression

SOURCE: car wont start. rplaces head gasket, spark plus

Its possible that your timing is off since you removed the head and distributor cap, and probably the timing belt. The camshaft, crankshaft and distributor need to be aligned exactly right relative to each other for the timing to be correct. The engine will not start if everythings not aligned right.

Are you sure that you set the timing correctly after you reinstalled the cylinder head?

SOURCE: 2003 camry 2.4 engine. Overheated and it shut off. Try to start car, the pulleys move but the car doesn't act like it is cranking over

You need a motor. If it overheated and stalled as a result than you cooked the engine.

ok... the large "hose that goes between the air filter and the intake manifold, it is easy to take off with just a screwdriver. take off the end closest to the intake. spray some starting fluid in there and turn the key. this has worked for me in the past. you may have to do it more than once. sometimes these things can be stubborn. post how it goes. good luck ! You have a blown head gasket that needs to be replaced. The head may be warped too so it's not an easy job to do without the proper tools and parts.

In general terms, you may have blown a head gasket when it overheated. If the engine cranks but won't start you may not have enough compression because of the head gasket.
A mechanic would check the compression with a gauge.

My 95 honda civic cp will not crank...it was running fine when I bought it...it was almost out of gas so I put more in it..it still wouldn't crank...I've checked the battery, fuel filter, spark...

No crank and no start are two different things.
For no start, you will have to figure out if it is fuel or ignition related.
You can run a compression test on the cylinders to check the head gasket. Usually a leaking head gasket will not cause it to not start all at once.
Hondas are known for fuel pump relay problems. Do you know for a fact the injectors have fuel pressure ?

Toyota wont start over heated replace the thermostat and radiator cap could it be the water pump is bad how do I tell

if it wont start immediatly after it overheated then you may have blown the head gasket, or melted a coolant temp sensor or other sensor or wire. look closly for the melted stuff. remove radiator cap and fill with water to the top of the rim. have someone crank it and if a air bubbles come out while cranking then a headgasket is most likely blown. some little bubbles at first dont mean nothing. its a steam of bubbles the whole time its being cranked that indicates head gasket

yes that is a sure sign of a blown head gasket! water and anti-freexe is heavier than oil and settles to bottom and will not mix with oil and will be the first out of the holel!.
