Question about 2011 BMW 520d
I have a 2011 BMW 520D F10. The car was involved in an accident but the engine was not damaged. I took the car to penalbeating and it was restored very nice but I am experiencing two problems. 1. The cars takes too long to start 2. The car is accelerating at a reduced power and is not picking up speed Thanks in advance

I had the same problem on my 330d M-Sport Touring. My problem was identified as 2 faulty injectors al;lowing too much fuel to flow back into the fuel lines. This resulted in reduced common rail pressure and the ECU would not start the injectors. I recommend getting a leak back test done and this will confirm if the injectors are good or bad. Try and find a Bosch service centre as these guys will know how to do the test and also how to fit the injectors properly.

SOURCE: i have a 2005 BMW
Did you put cheap gas in it recently or lower octane rated gas? Also, make sure your gas cap is on tightly.
If the cheap and easy answers aren't working, I would get a Peake code reader and see what the errors are (you may have a misfire). I wish I could give you more but this is a good start in determining what is going on, there are so many reasons why this is happening and by having the code reader you'll be able to isolate the problem better. The Peake reader gives you more specifics on the errors since it's specifically designed for BMWs.
Hop this helps!

The starter is tucked beneath the intake manifold back near the firewall. It is not easy to replace, but I would be shocked if you have a failed starter already on a 2006. Bosch starters usually last 12-15 years and a quarter-million miles.
Describe exactly what the car does and how it sounds when you attempt to start it. Just saying that the car will not start gives me nothing to go on.
