SOURCE: car will not move when

Have a helper put it in first gear and then check to see if any of the driveshafts or half shafts are spinning. U could have a broken axle, or one of your axles popped out. Or u could have spun all the fiber or lining off your clutch disk. With car running try to shift in to gear without depressing the clutch if it goes into gear with no grinds then it your disk. just a few simple tricks to try.

SOURCE: 91 geo tracker -automatic -gear change trouble at cold startup.

Well, there are a number of questions that come to mind from a routine maintenance perspective.
Seeing that it is a 1991, has the transmission ever been serviced. A complete oil change out and filter replacement should be done every 50K miles or so.

Let me know how many miles you have and if you plan on keeping the vehicle.

SOURCE: 2001 A4 TDI, 120000 miles, sometimes, maybe once a

In the most cases for Audi A4 1.9 TDI the turbocharger is responsible for engine losing power.
The car goes in "limp home" mode!!!
After scan the EDC-15P engine control unit with a VAG or KTS -BOSCH diagnosis tool you will find this: Fault code: P1557-Turbo Boost pressure control exceeded
1. Engine stopped and ignition switch off. Check all pneumatic connections and hoses between turbocharger actuator = pressure unit for boost-pressure control, boost-pressure control solenoid valve, vacuum reservoir, EGR control solenoid valve, intake-manifold flap solenoid valve, EGR valve with throttle - part of intake manifold. Also the vacuum connection between tandem pump and brake booster. If you find something wrong replace parts. If not go to step 2.
2. Extract the hose of the turbocharger actuator = pressure unit for boost-pressure control part of turbocharger. Instead of the original hose you must place another 1 meter long hose with the same inside diameter, and then you check to inspire yourself the air from the other one extremity of this hose. The mechanical connecting rod of the turbocharger actuator must have a smooth and whole motion. If you can do that with your mouth, then you must replace the boost-pressure control solenoid valve. If you can not reach this with your mouth, then you go to step 3.
3. This is the most difficult work. The problem is that the soot particles deposits inside the turbocharger plugging the variable nozzle geometry mechanism = adjustable vanes of the turbine. If the turbocharger actuator is not able to adjust the turbine vanes the charge air pressure increase too much and ECU (engine control unit) go in "limp mode" = engine protection software. As a result the "limp home" mode engine still running until you turn the engine off (ignition switch off) and back on when the "limp mode" is deactivated, but the fault still remain in ECU memory!
4. You must be able to extract the turbo from the engine and then to disassemble the turbocharger, clean inside adjustable vanes mechanism and refit all.

My Mitsubishi pajero turbo diesel 1997 model will not start cold when Start's blows black smoke

FIRST THINGS TO CHECK WHEN YOUR ENGINE WILL NOT START an engine not starting issue at least once in their driving lifetime. It can be frustrating as it usually happens when you need your car the most. There are two different scenarios that usually occur when this trouble presents itself. Either you are driving along and the engine dies and won't restart, or the vehicle has been sitting for a period of time and will not fire up.The only problem that has a different repair set is when the car stalls while driving and then fires back up which involves an intermittent problem that can be more difficult to diagnose.

When I start the Pajero the revs keep going up.

Either the throttle is sticking, the idle air control is stuck or faulty or the engine management system has a bug.

I once ran a Ford on a jack to check for a wheel bearing noise. The car went back to the owner that night without trouble but the next day it was impossible to drive as when it began to move forward in gear it would take off like a greyhound.
I had unwittingly reprogrammed the brain and in the absence of diagnostic equipment I left the battery disconnected overnight to clear the learned values and restore the basic settings. Most modern vehicles need the dedicated diagnostic equipment these days.

sounds like a hot and cold issue with either the transmission or transmission computer module. take to dealership and have them take a look. its possible you have something faulty in there. Also check to see if you have transmission fluild in it to proper levels.

Why is my gear shift so hard to move??

I believe your clutch is not disengaging fully. When this happens it may be hard to get into first gear but subsequet shifts are easier due to the fact the vehicle is moving. You probably have a hydraulic clutch system which is low on fluid or may have air in the system. Before shifting into first gear or reverse try pumping the clutch pedal 5 or 6 times then shifting, if it goes into gear easier after this then you probably have air in the system, it can be bled similar to bleeding brakes. If this doesnt work you might be low on fluid, or have a bad master or slave cylinder.

My 1992 pajero could hardly shift to the 4th gear and thus could not reach to turbo level.

If its having difficulty moving through the gears it could be a transmission issue or the turbo could be bad which would also cause a bogging down situation.

Pajero how to use 4wd gair

if your vehicle has manual locking front hubs then you need to turn them to lock first. then it's best to have the car on but not moving and perhaps in neutral gear put in the clutch and using the transfer lever select either low or high range. some vehicles need to go in reverse first before the transfer gears engage; that is usually hiluxes.Don't forget to do this procedure in reverse when returning to normal road driving as it is not good for the car to be driving on the road in 4x4
